Re: iPhone 4/iOS4 Info (Read this before starting more threads)
I'm due an upgrade this month from my iphone 3G but having looked at the tariffs I'd need to be on to just get a reconditioned 3GS I've given up on the idea of a 4 and decided to keep my 3G and swapped to the iphone simplicity 15...
I've recently got a Dell Inspiron Mini 1012. Upgraded the memory to 2GB and put Windows 7 Ultimate on and I'm very impressed. I've got my self built rig for gaming etc, so this is mostly used for browsing but even stuff like google earth works great. Previously my mobile browsing usage was done...
I washed the car yesterday with turtlewax car shampoo and all the scratches are through the paint. I don't want to try anything else in case make it worse or harder to repair.
Some kind person has treated our car to this. Are there any off the shelf products available that I could use or is this a professional repair job?
It's the rear plastic bumper. Car is pearlescent black.
My Mrs got an iPhone on contract the other day and when going through her options the bloke on the end of the phone told her she can upgrade from a 3G to a 3GS by simply doing the apple software update via itunes. She's a tad annoyed when I told her she couldn't and wishes she'd paid a little...
My mrs has just got an iPhone on contract with vodaphone and has been told the only way to get insurance on it is to go instore. Nearest store is an 18 mile roundtrip and she's disabled so it's not straightforward for her to do.
They can't tell her why it can't be done over the phone, just...
It's quieter than the Antec Skeleton I was using. The room it's in gets pretty hot so hopefully with all these fans it should run cool enough.
Comes with:
Front : 230x30mm red LED fan x 1 / 700 rpm / 19 dBA
Side: 230x200x30mm standard fan x 1 / 700 rpm / 19dBA (supports 120mm fan x 4)...
Parents always ask me if there's anything I want so I said a HAF. Nice case to work with and stacks of space behind the modo tray for cables which is handy as my PSU isn't modular.
I've been using them for years. Always been very happy with the service and speed of dispatch/delivery. Returned faulty items without hassle and even returned an item that worked fine but wasn't what I wanted with no quibbles for a refund.
Until I read through this thread I'd never heard a bad...
Twice now I've gone to my library to watch something I downloaded and found a movie there that I didn't select to download. No-one else has access to my pc.
Anyone else had this / heard of this happening?
I downloaded a ringtone from itunes store via my iphone. It displays in the ringtone list and is the default. Clicking on it doesn't play it and calling my phone results in no sound. I've restarted the phone. The other ringtones that come with the phone work fine.
Phone is 3G with 3.1.2 not...
You were right about outlook being crap with IMAP. Opening and deleting emails took ages, I thought this was just an IMAP trait but with Thunderbird it's instant.
Does Thunderbird give you desktop alerts when you get email via Gmail IMAP? I don't mind switching, have used thunderbird in the past.
Edit to answer my own question - Thunderbird does provide a desktop alert.
Slightly different wording but it says my Gmail IMAP is already default.
I guess that's not why the desktop alert won't display then. I can preview the desktop alert in the settings so I know it physically works, but for some reason it won't display when I get new mail.
I'm using Gmail IMAP. All I want to do is have the desktop alert (little popup alert, not the envelope) when new mail arrives.
I have "Display a new desktop alert (default inbox only)" ticked. I also have the Gmail inbox opening on startup. The only reason I can think that it's not working...
Hopefully not a repost...

There is a family pack but right now it's only available in the US. That will allow 3 installs. You'll have to read the conditions but I suspect you can order it from America and use it over here.
I disagree about AMD not being for gaming. There's a few threads on this over at OCUK. Gaming wise there's little different between i7 and Phenom II. I game with a Phenom II X3 @ 3.4GHz with no issue.
