Not been on the forums for a long time . Just put some spax coil over 750 MC spec on here for sale, so you might say i could be bias with any advice:)
I will try not to be.
I would say that for doing a lot of road mileage any good competition derived set up will be too stiff for most owners...
Some great pictures David, and your blog is very encouraging to anyone sitting on the side line like me. To get back out there again.
Lets see how it all goes, looking forward to some racing again in 2021.
Good luck at silverstone. And yes some new front pads. regards mark
If it helps you this is what I do , Undo the offending nearside driveshaft nut while on the ground approx 90 degrees, then with the car raised and weight off the wheel obviously, remove the wheel and the driveshaft nut. As long as the driveshaft is free in the hub splines you can push the shaft...

If you are intending to have a passenger in the vehicle whilst on track then the cross diagonal is the best option as it provides more protection. You will also notice there will be more rigidity to the vehicle.
I hope this helps.

Hello Clio Sport Members,
We had some very bad original front hoses, replaced through our workshop recently. (9 years old)
This reminded me to post this information for everyone's safety:
The Clio front brake hose, like many cars , has an anti kink rubber sleeve on to the caliper end.
Pull this...
Hello J E, back sooner than I thought
It cant be gear oil as it would show the same fault in other gears.
What has this man been doing for all that money, I am very interested. what is his name please I might know him from the past when we raced in Europe.
You cant put up with the fault when you...
Does the gear lever move backwards and forwards when coming on and off the throttle quickly in say fourth or second gear?
can you pull the engine backwards and forwards by heaving hard on the top of the engine, or better still from underneath with a lever bar...
Hello MC,
I have a similar gauge, oil press and water temp.
Check their instruction booklet, I think you will find, the led warning flashes individually at the set point you set them at.
So temporarily try a very low temp or pressure and see if it flashes at you.
regards mark.
Ben,
It is very easy to forget that the drive to and from the track has to be at least half enjoyable.
So unless you use ear plugs on the road or you are unfortunately mutton jeff, I would leave some of the lighter sound absorbing materials in the car, especially ref headlining as mentioned.
A...
Hello Aaron, How long has it been making the noise?
Does the noise relate to road speed? Or engine speed?
Is it the same in each gear.
I am open at 8.30 am Saturday, give me a call if I can help
Regards mark 01279 431628
logging off now.
Hello Phil, Shame there is no noise track on here lots of problems would be easy to solve. Now there's an idea. Threads with sound.
To try to understand the noise grinding grumble.
Where you changing gear quickly or steady, was it worse if you changed gear quickly, and better if you paused...
Just spotted this thread, sorry I don't get on here very often.
My son Sam was a bit hot off the blocks putting info out.(Bless him) When we thought the design was close to finished, which it is, but I have not had any time to devote to this and get them out there.
Very Sorry for the delay...
From experience with one of my customer's oreca cages, it came with flat plates undrilled etc. He sold that cage, it was too much labour to fit it .
The way forward for you is to make sure you either make up a box section similar as per the above photo of safety devices cage out of 3 mm plate...
So if a fat clio weighs 1000kg USING EASY FIGURES with a standard engine at say 170 bhp at the flywheel, less 30% transmission loses, is approx 120bhp to drive the car along, so in this example is 120 bhp per tonne.
If we get the weight down to say 900 kg which is good going, the power to...
Hello alistair. Check the manifold flange where the collars push / knock in. If this area is rusted away it is possible to do a long term weld repair to the manifold outlet flange area, approx £100 - £180 with parts and vat. Not cheap but saves a load of hassle etc.
Hope this helps.
regards mark...
We are about to start another Group Buy, based on the same principals as the last 2, whereby members get a 10% discount off the cage price for 5 or more confirmed orders.
We already have 1 confirmed order and we are in discussions with another customer at the moment and this may end up as a...
Hello ClioSport members.
I have been reading your comments with interest and would like to offer my advice on the door bar and seat fitting issues.
It is correct that the roll cage was originally designed to miss the door card and dashboard, but this does not normally cause any seat issues etc...
Some body see if they agree with what i have found a few years back, Big FLAT tyre lever between subframe and wishbone bush area, (like an mot).

I dont like wheel spacers especially on the front and 15 mm is quite a bit. Do these have a built in hub centre to locate the wheel? like the original hub. If so then they should be ok with correct bolts/length/ quality. It could still have poor effect on steering ref tramline/pulling. Please...
