Well done on your big update mate. You were very restrained! I don't think I would've been able to hold back my 'excitement' though and would've almost certainly dropped the nut if I'd picked my car up in that state!!! Such a shame it was left this way, but as you say, onwards and upwards.

Haha! Cheers! the only reason it was so restrained is because I want to keep the thread open.

Sorry to hear about your issues. Shocked at what I've been reading about this 'specialist'

Really good to see all the forum love, some good guys out there. Hopefully you'll get back on track soon enough.

Onwards and upwards aye.

Exactly mate, positive thoughts and all that!

Where did you get the oil cooler take off that has the cooler and gauge take offs ?

Got it from ebay, Think the shop is called Torques. Its a universal fit m20 one. If you cant find it I'll look back through my items

Couple of small updates..

2 cup driveshafts arrived today to replace the very tired ones. Thought it was good timing as they're off the car anyway.

Car is also booked in on the 20th to be looked after by Mike Woodford. Plan is to rip it apart, check everything that has been done previously and just 100% make sure everything is spot on. So fingers crossed it'll all go well and I'll have a working car again, I'm due some good luck anyway!

Glad its finally getting sorted, by somebody you can really trust.

Cheers buddy, may still call on that help at some point tho!

Nothing like having a job done twice, eh John.

Yep! Never a better feeling that mate!

Is your passenger shaft knackered?

I made the mistake of when I did the engine swap of not putting the cup shafts back on, instead put the 172 ones on. So not muller end, just putting the write ones back on!

I would swap them back but I've sold the flamer now lol

Dropped the car off with Mike and discussed a game plan on Saturday. Properly nice bloke, spent a good hour chatting about plans etc.

Plan is to take the engine and box back out to check the crank seal and other bits that were supposedly done before. I'd rather it be double checked to save agg at a later date.

Aux belt and cambelt being done at the same time. I've ordered a MAC 3 port boost solenoid to add into the mix too. Build it all back up and fingers crossed!

Easy peasy lol!

MAC boost solenoid has arrived along with my new ITG foam air filter.

When I dropped my car off to Mike he mentioned the generic unbranded filter was cack and letting in some dust, I also forgot to take my front bumper with me (DOH!) and obviously need that for it to go through the MOT. So I'll be popping back to Mike at some point in the next week to drop of the solenoid, filter and bumper.

Ah dude you must be really peeved. Thats gutting. Least its in safe hands now. "tuners" have always worried me. Probably why i never mod my cars that much.
I'm not great with spanners but only down the road if you need a hand with anything.

Cheers matey! Looking forward to getting out and meeting the peeps who have been offering help etc!

Not much to report apart from Mike is working his way through the many bodged jobs that he's come across! He said the crank seal/cap looks like it's been fitted by putting the bloke on some rails and train being driven into it haha! I had to laugh when he told me! He also mentioned the sealant is terrible. So all that need re doing too, just glad I asked him to rip it apart again to check it over.

Should be popping over to see him this weekend to drop some bits off. So hopefully get some pics

We'll looks like Dan 519 was kind enough to leave quite a few hidden gems for Mike to deal with! Loom cut in more places than I thought! But more serious than that, flywheel bolts loose, bell housing bolts missing and turbo bolts missing! f**king mugged me right off and if we hadn't of taken the engine back out to check it would have lasted 5 minutes if that! Not to mention the crank seal that was mullered anyway!

On the plus side, Mike has worked his nuts off and sorted all the niggles. Engine going back in shortly!!

Oh Hello.

Yes flywheel through everything, loom, diff, starter motor, hoses, radiator, fan, bonnet, block and sump guard.

I may have missed a few bit's, but they are the main ones, apart from that fine, apart from the engine, but that's another story.

 I thought I had a bad experience, Really sorry to hear what happened.

Fingers crossed for you getting it all back up and running, Most would have certainly given up. Good luck

Using the old ones to start with, not too bad doing it once, but they do stretch and are not very expensive.

UPDATE........SHE LIVES!!!

Mike got the engine back in and fired her up, idles fine and all seems well. He said its a bit tappy, but probably due to the lifters being empty. It's going for an MOT this week then going up to Will Pedley Racing to be mapped at the weekend. I'll hopefully get some vids and pics soon.

Mike also went on a 7 hour round trip to pick up a new driveshaft for me too, the man is a legend!

Fingers crossed the drive up to meet Will goes well and the car doesn't show any bad signs. It'll be the first time it's been driven in over a year, needs the cobwebs blown off it for sure.

P.S I cannot actually believe Dan 519 is actually advertising his services again on the renault uk Facebook page. Terrible!!

  Many.
Awesome progress, although couldn't have the driveshaft been posted? lol Mike is a top man.

I thought 519 had actually gone and fucked off.

Must be running low on funds or something whilst he is looking for another job...

Post office wouldn't take it and needed it sharpish for MOT. That's definitely above and beyond service!!

Can't believe he has the balls to....

Glad the car's running ,seems like ages ago you had it nearly ready and it just never went anywhere.

Cheers buddy - it has been a very long wait! Got the car ready in March this year so taken 8 months! 6 of those wasted with 519 and 2 needed to sort the f**k ups!
