172 Turbo Vs Type R Sc

hi guys Though i would join up here i have a Honda Civic TypeR Sc 320bhp i moved from Dubai about a year ago and brought it along with me.

I'm looking to sell my car and purchase a 172 and then Turbo it.

What sort of Preformence will The 172 Turbo Produce?

Here are my Preformence Figures done by (JDM)

0-60 - 5.3
0-100 - 11.9
top speed -159
1/4 time - 12.3 @ 112

ive driven my m8s 172 and found it to be alot more fun to drive then the civic and find the back does not go out as much as mine

RWD or 4WD would be my choice for that sort of power but each to their own, there's a couple of 172 turbos here I think... 270 brake or so?

My civic is Front-WD ill try and speak to this steve guy, 250bhp for 7k worth of Modifications doesnt seem like much. who is the best person to go to for Clio Modifications?

do it using a 1300cc Suzuki Hayabusa engine and then supercharge that :approve:

Isnt it true that putting more than 220 bhp through a FW drive car is pointless as it cant put it down or something? or is that an old wives tale?

If you want a clio mate - go for it, they are fun little cars, although i would say not in the same luxury range as a civic..

ALthough super value for money.

bbpt do a turbo conv. The high cost is down to small tuning companys doing the conversions. There is not as much available for 172/182 as CTR.

Also speak to BenR who owns a company called AWT. You may be able to get him to do a supercharger conversion. But it will cost lots.

Might be worth getting a Clio V6 and supercharging it for the RWD, not sure on price etc but Mike T has done it...

at 220+ you're going to want an LSD, it'll struggle to get the power down, I imagine thats why the 300+ brake Civic is getting 5.5 secs or so 0-60 put the same power in a RWD car of similar weight and you'd prob get 0-60's under 5 secs (BMW M Roadster for instance)

hard to get the power down in the wet too, important to me in the West of Scotland!

It depends what you want personally I'd go look at Normally aspirated tunning on the 172/182.

alrite bud, nice to catch up with you again the other day, tbh ive heard of a few charge coolers splitin and personaly dont rate them at all, if i waz you id go fmic, just my 2p's worth but charge coolers just arnt for me :S

hi its stevo yh if i were you id keep the civic! it really is difficult to get the power down! and in the wet,id get beaten by mum doing the school run! also the gear boxes are the weak point on the 172/182s! and thats without the turbo! in the dry mine 0-60 in 5ish and apparentley top end of 165mph! atm 261 at the engine!id say go for the v6 ant super charge that:approve:

your in a front wheel drive ffs...........

anything more is just useless and unuseable power!

you could have 300-500bhp if you really wanted but the car wont last very long at all.
