200bhp Clio coming on great!

  williamsclio.co.uk/forum

Latest is........*drum roll* 200bhp has ben passed at 6200rpm, still got a 1000 revs to play with and these are conservative rollers ;)

  FRST and 106 GTi

Thats great news mate!

A 290º cams on a DOHC will give you power band from 3000rpm up to 8000rpm. You might get peak power somewhere near 7000rpm, and since youre using a F7R bottom (which i guess is std) its not good to go over 7200rpm.

This are my thoughts and seems that Ben has done the same thinking no?

Well done mate!!!

problem after problem after problem.....just going through the final testing before i pick her up. Nearly there, had some problems with wrong shafts or CV with the Willy track, after speaking to the whole of CS today (i mean EVERYONE, thanks to Matbrown, J3NED, Andy GDI, BenR, Fred2001, Teamthink, infincar) i have managed to source a Willy shaft to sort out my knocking suspension (we HOPE!)

Finalised a deal with Fred for my wheels after seeing the amazing job he did on TizerBs, so should have a set of white willy wheels ASAP to finish it off. Being picked up on saturday!

Plug properly in future mr clean16v!!!!

Fred, Ill see you on saturday, if the wheels are that good you may have another customer, as mine are starting to look tatty.

167 @ wheels average, 175 on one reading! Few minor points i wanted changing so its still at GDI/AWT HQ. Coilover springs need changing for lower weight ones, and i want a few aspects of the power delivery to suit me. Other then that its good to go!

For some reason GAZ provide really high rated springs as standard and you have to ask for lower weight ones , second car ive owend that this has happened!

  Trophy

No worries.

Was hoping you would pop in on the way back so i could have a look at it, maybe when its sorted?
Saying that, FCS isnt far away.

Mat.

Question: Are you planning on fitting an airbox over the trumpets or just having them exposed.

The reason I ask is that with a combination of the already small space between the front crossbrace and engine and a great big carbon airbox we couldnt get the alternator, water pump and power steering pump to physically fit.

Did without the hydralic power steering in the end and used an electric pump.

Additionally, due to the lack of space infront of the engine we used shorter trumpets, did you have much trouble getting it all to fit in?

Running a custom rad, and power steering removed altogether (now using manual rack and column). The car wont be running an airbox, just a sausage type filter.......

Yeah we have a nice alu rad.

Truth be told, our airbox is now largely redundant since we started using individual foam socks over the trumpets instead of any other filters.

If you get fed up of manual steering though, id recommend an electic pump; remarkably easy to fit, and I think the pump we use was off a Saxo

yea, mucho diferent, but i havent had any time to take any pics recently, ive been snowed under...i will have some nxt week.

porntastic, get some pics up asap Ben and a sound clip so everyone can hear this beast... still not as good as being stood a foot away or watching it give it death past you :D

For a quick solution socks were run as a temporary solution for filtration, however they suck...in a bad way and power lost was in the region of almost 40bhp!!!!!!!!

A custom filter has been made to the measurements required, and now a custom baseplate is needed to clear the fuel rails.

i can build you another one no problem......

Maybe not quite so far on the areas touched though eh? lol
