  Twingo 133 Cup,
So are them subframes just bolted to the original seat mounting points or on welded in bars? They definitely shouldn't of done what they have given that the hit wasn't as bad as it could of been.

It's for that reason that most motorsport seat side mounts are bolted directly to cross welded box section or tube

Pretty worrying that subframe, even in a road car to be honest, let alone a rally car. As @Pauleds suggests, I'd put in a weld-in kit after this weekend. I put one in in the Escort. So much better than anything bolt in, if a bit of a pain to get lined up.

Someone on here welded some mounts in to the latest FIA spec - it might have been @Tomotek?

Yes he did.

The ones pictured above aren't allowed anymore iirc because you aren't able to weld all the way round properly or something like that. I seem to remember you have to weld the plates in and then bolt the rails to the plates?

They are a bit of a pain to weld all the way round. I have never known anyone to be pulled up for them though. It wasn't mentioned when I did an event earlier this year, but they usually only check the seat/harness/extinguisher dates and the pull cables.

A lot of cars would need new seat mounts if they banned them, that's for sure!

It's only an FIA reg, so most stuff in the UK is only MSUK.

If MSUK did chose to follow the FIA reg it would mean 1000's of people would require new mounts like you say.

It wouldn't surprise me if it comes eventually. Motorsport UK seem to have started to adopt more FIA stuff. Regardless, I'll go FIA spec in my next car just to be safe!

Mixed day Hills Ford Three Shires stages.

Having a relatively good start the clutch let go half way through ss3, driving the stage with no clutch which finally give up the ghost on the road section.

A 70 min round trip drive to Apex for a clutch and some quick spannering by brother and dad. The clutch was done is around an hour. Some going on your back. But we’ve had this subframe off so much it falls off now.

Managed to do the last loop. Put in some good stage times but 3 out the 6 stages were my 1st pass through. So was never going to be right up there with the guys on there 3rd pass.
Looking at the times I would of been in the fight for 3rd/4th which was what the goal was with over 30 starters in the class. I just need 50 more bhp and a clicky to have a fair fight 😂

Great day and some good stages, definitely be back next year

Onboard of one of the longest stages of the day. No sound but shows how fast the narrow lanes are topping 100mph at one point

A shame about the issue, but you were setting decent times, which is encouraging.

Get a Sadev in this and it will be a rocket. How much does it weigh?

I’m not sure how much it weighs but I don’t think it’s the lightest one about. Still got full interior loom and heaters.
Have i seen this for sale somewhere?

Yeah it’s for sale at the minute as the ultimate spec rally clio has come for sale minus the engine. So if mines goes I’ll be buying that

Nothing like the buzz of over 100 down a stage with the car moving around.
Keep up all the good work.

Them lanes were amazing too. So fast and flowing. Looking forward to the next closed road event

Ultimate Clio, Steve Quigleys car?
Closed roads are definitely more fun than the circuit and range stuff.

  Twingo 133 Cup,
Not his but car is pretty much identical. With a few better bits on it and steering wheel on the right side 😂
Don't think I could do lhd. I know his car was a giant killer it was always quick when I seen it and got very good results. So if its better should be good!
I will be happy to even get back out on the stages at the back in my little shopping car.

He’s still got it. Was talk about a millington going in it but don’t think that’s happening now

Ah ok. Not sure I would go down that route to be honest. The problem with going up to the big engine is that you also have to run heavier. Chris West who runs the 306 in the MSN championship has even talked of going back to a 2.0-litre lump I'm told, as he could the run car a lot lighter.

New clutch, just waiting on a new lightened flywheel.

I’ve entered the Neil Howard Stages at oulton park on the 2nd of November and the trackday on the Thursday just as a test. The last time I took the clio round there was over 2 years ago when the car was standard with just two bucket seats. Looking forward to having some fun in the car on a track day.

New Sachs clutch is in and what a difference. It’s heavy but changing gear is so easy now. Everyone feels a lot more tighter.

M and my brother are at oulton tomorrow for a track day before the first round of the msn circuit rally championship on Saturday at oulton.

Both cars checked over and ailments done at Tuned last weekend.
Looking forward to pushing hard Saturday morning after tomorrow’s test/track day.

Oulton went well today. Funny how the track dayers say bilsteins are to soft when I went past every car on track 😂

Looking forward to Saturday now. Hopefully be able to push on well after today

Neil Howard Stages from Oulton Park started well on the Saturday morning.
2nd in class and 17th overall after ss1.

SS2 we snapped a driveshaft, I managed to drive it off the stage on 1 shaft and managed to get out for the remained of the day.
Setting fastest in class on ss4 and 2 fastest on ss7, ss8 and ss9 in class. In ss9 we were also 10th quickest overall considering the untry I’m pretty happy with that.

If the shaft didn’t snap we would of been a comfortable 2nd in class punching well above it’s weight. And still unbelievable the engine is 194 bhp.

If you ever want to see what oulton park is like backwards 👇🏼

SS1 of The Neil Howard Stages

Good start to the rally catching our 30 second car 1 lap in on the slippy infield section.

Ended up joint 17th quickest tied with Will Owen in his millington Mk2 escort, 2nd in class and fastest fwd. Unfortunately a snapped driveshaft put end to what could of been a good result.

f**king chevette's lost you a good bit of time there.
I should of sent it down his door when it opened up 😂

That video proves why I couldn't be a co-driver - I would be losing my s**t with the guy in the Chevette lol

Looked blinkin' slippery!

yeah infield was like ice. Had to literally just drive over it at road speed. The circuit was fine though. Michelin wets do the business
