Clio, concrete wall - bad combination

At a track day today, Castle Combe.

Must have locked my rears braking for Tower corner from about 95mph. Next thing I know I'm sideways on the grass. Cue front end hitting concrete barrier, which spins me round for a go at the rear.

Here's some pics:

So looks like I'm in need of front and rear bumpers and a rear quarter light. Any suggestions on places other than Renault to get them?

Hard luck mate. Did it in style though.

I've got a bootlid, wrong colour but yours for free if you want it. No idea where Newbury is mind.

Ouch Combe is an unforgiving circuit if you come off in any of the major turns - hope you get it sorted.

that's most unfortunate and is the thing i dread doing on a track day; Tower's the nastiest corner for it, too. were you insured?

why's that, Rich? i guess the Action Days are a no-no, but do the insurers also shy away from the 'proper' days?

Unlucky mate, must have been feeling pretty crap thinking you're going to mess the front up and then tag the rear as well. Unfortunate.

Accidents like this scare me about track days.

BTW, Couzens is selling a rear bumper in the for sale section.

When i start trackdays i'm going to go to bedford autodrome because it has the big runoff's etc. Sorry to see this mate, it must be gutting for you, chin up though.

doesnt help when youre going sideways or on the grass anyway...

yeah - you brake for Tower from the left hand side of the track (obv.) and then have about 15ft of grass before you're into the tyre wall. at least you're (presumably) not injured - pretty high entry speed, although assume you were braking from it

Not injured, although the Mrs is complaining of whiplash (she was sat next to me). I think I may have put her off track days.

I hit the brakes at 95. Probably down to 60 ish when we went off. We still travelled a long way after the first impact. I had time to notice just how flimsy my front bumper was as it flapped about on the grass like a piece of paper. I also had time to then look over my shoulder and think nooooo not the rear quarter that's expensive... crash. We spun way before the turn in point.

Unlucky mate, meant to be doing combe when I get a new car in the new year, sorta puts me off lol.

Hope you get it sorted, have you tried websites like partsgateway.co.uk? Will usually be able to source stuff for you, not sure of price though.
