cracked w/screen after washer bottle repl

Is there any chance that whilst replacing a leaking washer bottle on my 172 the garage could have cracked the windscreen?

There are 2 cracks along the bottom of the screen which were not there before it went in. I got it back about a week ago and only noticed today because i was driving in the dark and it showed up with the headlights from oncoming traffic.

Easy mate, gota be careful doing that job.

The wiper linkage has to be removed to gain access to the washer bottle, very limited room to get the wiper linkage assembly out to replace the bottle, the linkage hits on the screen at the bottom unless you get the correct angle to remove the part.

Does the crack come from the bottom of the screen on the passenger side, if it does then 95% sure its down to the recent job you have had done.

If this is aimed at me Im sorry didnt mean all dealers are like this.

The wife has just taken it to Harratts Pontefract (who did the w/bottle) and they say its not there problem.

They say it is an imperfection in the windscreen. Strange how it has only appeared now!

She is on the phone to Renault now to see what they say.

I can get it done on my insurance for £50 so as a last resort we will try and get them to pay the £50or knock it off the next service(which it due soon:().

Considering we have had 3 new cars off them in the last 5 years i am hoping they will pay the lot, but something tells me i might even struggle to get them to pay the £50
