dmallett's indecisive clio thread! Monaco ph2 pg1+, Titanium ph1 pg31+, PB ph1 pg43+

  DON'T SEND ME PM'S!!
Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco

Really good pads, Wish I'd stuck with them to start with and not bothered trying the others. they're all I'm selling now apart from standard spec stuff

Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco

Got a reanult sport badge off here for £15!, so i cleaned just the area where it was going.

Put it on and it looks much better, but I wasnt happy with how it was holding on with some extra sticky double sided tape/foam so ive removed it untill I find something better.

Standard plate back on after getting a £60 fine for the 3/4 plate :(

The car is also 13mm lower at the front than when last pictured, and 7mm at the rear to give it more rake. Ive been playing with the rebound adjusters also and i think i am now happy with how the car is setup, feels so firm and planted. Awful picture of the car, it looks clean in daylight i promise ;)

last picture is pointless as my drive isnt level lol

Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco

First clean of the year! Doesnt scrub up to badly, the car has its fair share of imperfections but it serves its purpose much better than looking pretty :p

Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco

Looks good mate you really need to get the satin black out for the front plastics, would look much better.

Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco

Bit of whoring courtesy of DannyR, these are the first non iphone pics to grace this thread so far lol

Actually slowly starting to like the ph2 looks

Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco

New filter setup, just need to adjust it so its alittle less squished, certainly seems to pull well just need to overcome the the issue of it getting soaking wet ;)

Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco

This is its permanent summer setup now as it just makes it pull so hard obviously from the extra length of pipe before the throttle body.

Hopefully it will be sunny at CSS so everyone can admire the brilliance of this filter.

Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco

New headunit fitted, cheapest one i could find of course with aux. Nice to have a flush fitting radio which works!
null-10.jpg

Replaced the boot lock mechanism due it not locking for past 3 months! nice simple fix consisting of 3 bolts :)
null-4.jpg

Then i took a trip to see Rhys Beal to pick up my old spare wheel that he has had sitting in my garage since breaking the ph1. It doesnt match the rest at all but im not bothered if it gets me out of the s**t.
null-5.jpg

Then after a light night thrashing of the car i had a engine management light on. After about a month of this i decided to buy a cheap code reader for £15 off ebay. Error was the lambda sensor so i reset it and it hasnt appeared since. Guessing it doesnt need changing as its still getting decent MPG.
null-6.jpg

So thats 4months worth of problems sorted in a week so the car is officially ready for the ring trip in a few weeks. Anything else done before that is just an added bonus.

Spotted an OMP trecento wheel for sale on here so snapped that up. Its 300mm so rediculously small but exactly the same as what I ran in the PH1, all ive done since having a car with standard wheel/seats is moan that I cant get the position right for me so hopefully problem solved.

Ph1 stalk fitted courtesy of Rhys so I have a working horn.
null-8.jpg

Fitted with an OMP boss, much better IMO.
null-1.jpg

Which plug am i fitting the resistor too? Stumped by this as only one plug on the ph1s.
null-2.jpg

Few random whoring pics of it in its battered glory.

Next up.
Sun strip
New splitter
Bucket seat (after having it 5months!)
White line arb.

After than the car will be pretty much upto spec of the my old clio but with an epic engine and heavier, for now.

And yes i know my updates/total lack of pictures suck.

Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco

Today i fitted my bucket seat, first off greeted by this abortion of wiring.
null-18.jpg

No pics in the process, finished product.
null-16.jpg

null-12.jpg

Kept all the seats in so used a eye bolt through the original rear seat belt bolt in the back. Probably not the best way but its where ive mounted them previously just i removed the seats last time.
null-19.jpg

Sunstrip just for the ring trip, so many bubbles for under £2 worth it for the drive imo although majorly try hard/chavy.
null-21.jpg

Then a mate came round and asked me to remove his splitter off his zetec s, me being me decided to fit it to my car. Such a bad fit but pretty funny looking, sure its good for down force/ripped my bumper off. This will stay until my skoda splitter comes in.

So the car is even closer to being ready for the ring now, new driving position is so much better. Makes the car perfect to drive now imo.

Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco

Is that the Triple R splitter?

Can't say I'm a fan of it on a clio, however, I am a fan of you not missing the opportunity to try it. Haha.

Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco

No idea what it is, he hated it so we were bored and stuck it on.

It won't be staying, that's for sure. Looks such a chav wagon right now.

Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco

It doesnt fit well at all IMO, has a lip sticking out where it shouldnt do and falls short about an inch.

Its off a zetec s no idea what it is, managed to scrape alot with it last night driving about 20miles so after that pic its been taken off again.

Though im sure you could manipulate the bumper to fit on it properly with a bit of work, would fit on a ph1 i reckon as the bumpers are so bendy in comparison to the ph2.

Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco

I really like it  lol!

Would of thought about that for the Ph1!

Glad to see you now have a decent ride height ;)

Come fit it to yours then? you have more patient that me so would probably make it works ;)
It looked so bad in my eyes that i refitted my old splitter for now!

Ride height, its only 5 higher at the rear than the last meet, it was far to at the rear also might raise the front up abit as ive noticed its scraped the gear linkage ha.

Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco

I said my Ph1 ;) I always wanted to have a RWB style splitter on the front of the Ph1

Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco

Glad my steering wheel has gone to a good home :)

It has! Thanks for the quick delivery on it also :)
As for the missing bolt that didnt matter as my boss has 6 bolts with it so it worked out perfect!

Glad you approve of my work as always haha

Strangely I'm a fan of that splitter also!

I couldnt stand it. Looks awful on the fiesta it came off let alone a clio!! It also scraped either side on light cornering so wasnt alot of good for my car

Also just taken the car shopping, and even more in love with the driving position. Gear stick for me is actually in a decent place now and about the right level, i know i must be the one of few that gets on with it. From a few metres away you cant really notice the bucket seat which is a plus. So the car still looks kind of normal minus the poo brown wheels :)
