  ph1 track weapon
Put a deposit down on this little beast today.

spec as follows:
1.6 16v
65k miles
Pug1off cams
decat and full system
bilsteins

plans include:
buckets - got some with the car, just need to fit them
oil cooler - also got with car so just need to fit
faulkner springs
pugsport system or alike
supersprint manifold
cage of some sort
sort out the current oil breather set up as its pants
sort a decent induction system as that also pants!

great fun out on the road. really stiff, grip is awesome and very quick with the cams. gonna get on a fair few trackdays this year and go have some fun!

its not THAT sheddy dave. paints in good nick and no damage apart from a dent on the bonnet, but its still a shed.

pug1off cams are apparently catcam 708s but with an ever so slightly longer duration, and it pulls pretty well with them.

its booked into xsport for a few bits and pieces on friday, including a service and sorting some of the bodges out. Seats are going in this evening, and all the interior is coming outincluding headlining, sound deadening and whatever else i can tear out. dash stays though.

just need to find some engine mounts as mine are totally cream crackered!

Looking decent, Had a wee soft spot for these. Only change i would make are the wheels to 306-GTi6 wheels

Riad - owner says he knows bomber, burp and a few others and used to be part of the built4track crowd, had a black Clio on White 2118s

Wheels wise I'm current stalking some TH Monos as I'm not a fan of the wheels either

Seems to run pretty well, loving the lumpy idle from the cams. Seems one of the front shocks has gone though :( so needs addressing as well as tidying up a few bits

Haven't really given it proper death yet as I have various extra bits that came with the car rolling around the back seats, and the engine mounts are on their last legs, but it's good fun either way

Seems to Huddersfield a little at low revs in second but fine in all other gears, which is a little odd to, but was cheap considering the spec so I expect a few issues

a few more updates.

- today i had the dash out, managed to remove the heater matrix and fan, as lets face it theyre unneccessary weight. need to find bungs to fill in all the holes that there are in the bulkhead now though!!!!!
- all sound deadening removed
- all carpet removed
- momo 300mm wheel fitted

so still to fit i have:
- bilstein grp n dampers
- uprated engine mounts
- GE quickshift
- pugsport 2"

and i need to find some Faulkner springs and a manifold too!!!!!

on the plus side i've just been offered a new job, so have sold my daily, as i get a company vehicle, and the 106 can hopefully stay in the compound at work and come out from time to time. am gonna be on the lookout for a cage, some carbon bits and possibly some ITBs come summer!

Yess!

Was waiting for you to start a thread about this ;)

Looks good mate, and the spec sounds awesome!

Best quickshift for these is the B&M, I had one and it was fecking awesome!!

Quicker than the old PH1?

  ITB'd MK1
if pug1off did the belt on it, get yourself a new belt kit. They dont change tensioners. My mate had a big kick off with them a couple of years back. Their argeument was "peugeot dont change them, so nor do we"

Yeah I have heard dodgy things about Pug1off, it would be better to go to PugPerformance in Alton.

Ah ok. Will look into that. Cheers guys. Was also wondering whether there were any good pug specialists round these parts.

Nick, in a word yes it does, a lot rawer and chuckable!

Tweeq Automotive are in Bordon, he will do most things, runs a turbo'd AX himself.

Re: the B&M, again a very good bit of kit (had one myself), but the GE quickshift does the same, for £15.

  ph1 track weapon
is the GE a pain to fit Dave? off to get myself a jack today so was gonna attempt the mounts and quickshift this weekend

  S'trollin on size 7s
i used to love my old XSI, i had a GE quickshift for that. think i must of been fobbed off with a dodgy one because no matter how much i tired i couldnt get it to sit snug on the ball of the linkage, so i decided against it when it came off and left me with no gears in the middle of a main road on a hill.. luckily i free rolled it onto the curb and i could just get my scrawny arse under the car to pop it off n link it back upto the original. but i gotta say while it was on and actually working ,made a good difference!
