So undecided on the colour of it..?

I feel as though its probably more appreciated in the flesh?

To be honest, its actually impossible to capture the colour with my iPhone!! I'll take some proper pictures of it over xmas, maybe then the real colour will come across a little better .... at which point, everyone will hate it lol

I would post some pics of other ones, but they are uber rare in M3 flavour, a few Clubsports/Sports come in Velvet though ...

not a fan of depo's and think the chrome grilles need something doing with them, but not just matt/satin black. dare i say some real carbon? The colour is amazing, plus as you say uber rare

It'd help if you didn't pick the worse style of depo's out of the lot!

Mine looked OEM.

I've no idea what depos are, but if i'm honest, they look bloody awful. I expected more from you!

  53 Clio's & counting
Good points were full history, near new Conti sport contact 3's all round, running in service, leather was in good nick.

Bad points were 128k, TV didn't want to play ball at all, n/s/f and n/s/r arches both gone very bubbly arr round, bonnet had been sprayed badly and looked very hazy.

Shame, as bloke had owned it from 3000 miles, and had looked after the running gear, just too much work for me to do to get it back to somewhere near tidy.

  Turbos.
Nothing wrong with depos, but as said by Steve, you just picked the wrong ones. Seen plenty which look OEM and are a massive improvement over stock.

To be honest, id didnt even realise that there were different versions!! Perhaps they only sell the asianspec versions on M3cutters?

Whats the Milage like from full tank to empty?

Probably about 375 miles during 'normal' usage if you literally used all the fuel in the tank ...

£65 gets me about 3 days commute, circa 300 miles.

My there is some seriously weird BMW lingo in this thread. WTF is a 'Depo'? And why is the forum called M3 Cutters? Is it short for M3 Cutter Uppers? :S

It's because they cut weight from there car, M3 bulkers is another one, where they pack there boots full of dianabol and concrete to make them heavier

They're much better!!! No mention of them anywhere on M3cutters FFS. Where did you get them?

Although, im still unsure whether they would look right on purple ...

Depo = brand of e46 'rep' indicator
M3cutters = UK M3 forum. I guess they couldn't call it www.asianmanlivinginsloughdrivinganM3withtintz.com so opted for that instead?

Looks better with just the silvervisions, as you say OEM+ :)

I'd prefer the ones Waitey has posted as they look more like the headlights.

Dave mine were called 'projector' have a look on ebay.

The ones with tinted lenses are really really rank.

PS cutters is for c***s. Look for my grills for sale thread on there!

Way better with the silver visions on the oems mate, everyone harps on about depos but I've never liked them!
I remember fitting mine, makes a big difference for such a small mod.

Quick update, made another thread the other day with some awful pictures, but thought i better update the project thread as well.

Essentially Ollie cleaned it: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?616229-Purple-M3.-Cr4p-picture-alert, which made it looked like this.

After that, we popped down to Guildford tyres to get the wheels swopped over, & get the tracking sorted - unfortunately this involved fire, as the tracking/camber had obviously never been setup properly before. To be honest, its still isnt, but nevermind, it'll need doing again soon anyways it would seem ...

IMG_1283.jpg

Whilst the wheels were all being swopped over, i thought it wise to have a quick check over underneath, which revealed the brake pad wear sensor hanging out & 2 x broken springs (MOT in June didnt notice them, hmmm):

IMG_1288.gif

Everything else is fine though, including the rear subframe - no cracks etc. So looks like i'll be getting some Prolines sooner rather than later, which means i might as well do the RTAB's and front lower rear wishbone bushes whilst im under there - there is a slight wobble/vibration through the steering wheel.

Finally, for the past 2 weeks i have rolling without traction control or abs, not i might add as i fancied being a hero in the winter weather, because my dashboard that looked something like a xmas tree:

IMG_1267.jpg

Yet again, my investment in a BMW diagnostic lead & software (INPA) quickly led me to the cause of the problem - a right rear abs sensor that had been failing intermittently. A quick call to Euro Car Parts on Tuesday morning and £60 later a new sensor was on my desk yesterday afternoon. After swopping it over last night (took 30 mins), the dashboard is back to normal and everything is working again properly, just in time for me to drive down to Cornwall for Christmas :D

As an aside, the mpg over the past 4k miles has averaged out at 28mpg, roughly the same as a clio 197 lol.

Actually better than the 197... running costs.. not so much! ;)

Looking good mate. What's the issue with the tracking then?

Basically, they couldn't get the rear camber quite right & the steering wheel is still off centre - the reason for me wanting it done in the 1st place lol. Running costs, well im just glad that i have a toolkit and dont have to pay BMW prices

Forgot, took a picture of the fleet on Tuesday night as well.

Nice. That spring looked rather worrying!

My ABS light and orange exclamation mark are on my dash now! Something for me to look in to after Xmas!

Yeah, got this one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120806919144

Have only used INPA so far for basic fault diagnosis, live data & code reading/resetting etc, but will start using GT1/NCS Expert etc whilst ive worked out how to setup a 'virtual machine' using VMWare
scratchchin.gif

Why do you need to use a virtual machine? I'm supposed to be learning how to do that at work, if it helps me diagnose faults with the car I'll learn a bit faster! :rasp:

my steering wheel was slightly of centre on my e46 m3 , a load of lights came on the dash the other week when driving down motorway , lit up like a christmas tree , was down to the tracking being out my local bmw specialist told me , ever since the tracking was done ansd steering wheek ligned up the dash is fine now , rear springs snapping are common as well , my old m3 ans my one i have now both had snapped rear springs , car looks lovely as well , nice colour you got t in
