Had a bit more progress with the car recently, got myself 4 new Dunlop SP Sport Maxx to replace the 4 different tyres on the car, massive difference from the 3 budgets and one ancient Michelin that I got on the car!

Also picked up a set of RenaultSport Turinis off @MarkM to refurb. Left them off for paint before I went back to uni so went to pick them up today, really pleased with how they came out! Will hopefully get them on the car soon although if the weather is going to stay as it is I might leave it a while!

Some bad news aswell though, hit a badger on the way home a few nights ago and it left its mark.. Thankfully it wasn't at high speed and this was all the damage! I'm hoping the bumper can be saved by plastic welding and a new bottom grille but time will tell...

Got a nice stance to it

Is that standard springs with spacers?

That's totally standard, haven't got any spacers yet!

That looks amazing almost brand new! really like this colour. I quite like the tints but if you do decide to remove them when you remove the back window one turn the rear demisters on for 10 minutes so the tints dont rip out the filament.

Good choice with the Milltek, ive had one on all my 182's.
What I have noticed is that new ones seem to be different to the old ones in that the Milltek logo that is laser etched on the back doesnt show up as much as they used to. You can hardly see it on the new ones.

Will do, cheers!

I've noticed that myself actually! I'd prefer to be able to see it a bit more! Do you still run a cat in yours or de-cat?

I run a cat in mine, I would love a decat but the neighbours think its loud enough as it is.

Turinis look fantastic!

Thanks! Wasn't 100% on the colour but now that I've got them I'm happy with them! :)

This is just amazing!
Thanks!

exactly the same here, been thinking about a sports cat though, or whether there is actually any point in spending the money on one lol.

Back home again and finally got round to getting the Turini's on the car, very pleased with them! Also installed Silvervision bulbs all round in true cliosport.net fashion!

Got some new Glimmerman snow foam after it was recommended by a friend and was really impressed with it compared to what I had been using, also got given some Auto Finesse stuff to try!

Unfortunately after this when I went to take it a drive I noticed the Aux belt slipping so I have it booked into Charles Hurst thanks for Dephaser, Belts, Oil's and Filter service.

  E46 M3 182FF & 530i
Got the car back from a well needed major service from Charles Hurst recently had the following work done;

  • Dephaser Pulley
  • Timing Belt
  • Aux Belt
  • New Power steering pump
  • New Alternator
  • Oils
  • Filters
Feels much nicer to drive with the new steering pump, last one was definitely goosed!
Picked up a few other goodies whilst the work was being done, new ITG Panel filter;

Renault exhaust mounts are useless and sag very quickly with the Milltek on so bought some new mounts and Powerflex universal mounts and made my own!
(New on the left & old on the right)

Car is crying out to be lowered but will look into that eventually as I unfortunately have Tax, Insurance & MOT all due in the next month! :(

As usual a few photos also...

Been a while since I've been on here,
Since then I've given the brakes an overhaul thanks to @George@RTR_Parts - Went for the Brembo Max HC & Mintex M114's on the front & the Renault disc's and brembo pads on the rear. Changed the fluid and replaced all the other ancillaries also. The old brakes were certainly past their prime, feels a lots better to drive now!

Also went on my first Track Day at Kirkistown, car performed flawlessly! Need to replace the two front tyres now however. I have been running Dunlop Sport Maxx & unsure whether to change this or try something else!
Only photo I have from the day unfortunately!

You can have a nosey at the rest of the album here if you wish.

I'm back in London now for a while so the car is tucked away again until after Christmas. Hopefully I'll have a new reg, Cooksports & a few other goodies by then!

A few more recent photos however...

After spending winter sitting in the cold I came back from London to a few problems...

Injector 2 had failed, shock was leaking and the springs were looking a little worse for wear. New injector, spark plugs and a good service sorted all that out.
Leaking shock and springs meant I finally bit the bullet and ordered some lowering springs. Couldn't get my hands on a set of Cooksports so ended up opting for Eibach Sportlines & new cup shocks. I'm very happy with the ride quality, even after driving to London yesterday!

I just need to get my hands on some spacers now to finish it off!

Quick picture of how it sits now from a local forum BBQ meet also!

@JamieG95 can you tell me how you go about editing your photos? The first photo is the way I'd like my photos. I don't have any editing equipment but have a decent camera. Any tips or links to tutorials would be perfect! Love the crisp look of the photos

I use a combination Adobe lightroom and when needed Adobe Photoshop - Which exact photo are you referring too? Feel free to fire me a pm and I'll help where I can!

Awesome mate. Your very first image in this thread. How much is Lightroom? Would you say it's worth getting?

Ah cool. There is very little editing in that first photo, I just use it for general adjustments and some like colouring. It was shot on a Canon 600d & Canon 50mm f1.8 during golden hour, hence the nice light. I can't remember how much it is off the top of my head, I think the CC version is about £100 per year - at the minute its free for myself as I use the Adobe suite for Uni.
If you are using it enough yes I'd say it's worth getting as it also acts as a catalogue software for all your images too but there are loads of other programs out there that don't cost anything.

Thread revival? Shortly after the last post in this thread and the photo below I sold my RB182 to enter the world/pain of BMW ownership. I've now once again picked up an Artic Blue 182 for some track use but thought I'd revisit the forum and also this thread. I'm not sure if the RB car is still on the forum? It made its way to Scotland after me and is currently registered on an NI Reg, VNZ 8420.

If I can, I'll edit the title of this thread and update with some progress & pics of my latest 182.

Post 182 I found myself driving an E92 335d, a fantastic car but after the Clio it soon got boring. Purchased a MK5 GTI DSG after this which was an absolutely fantastic car. From then I got an E46 M3 which now resides along with my daily E39 530i and recently purchased Artic blue 182.

The latest Renaultsport, a 2003 182 FF. I picked this up with the intention of track use and a bit of weekend fun whilst I'm finishing some of the big jobs on the M3. So far I can see belts/pulleys have been done along with brakes all round and serviced recently before I got it. All Renault parts with invoices to match which is nice. Upon inspecting on the ramp everything seems in pretty good order underneath, it has what I think to be a K-tec exhaust fitted.

My plans are to fit a set of standard headlights, ideally xenon ones but will see what I can get my hands on. The tyres are budget and the wrong profile, so currently awful to drive. New tyres and allignment is first on the list. Suspension I think is tiring, so shocks/springs also on the horizon but the main aim is simply a cheap and cheerful track car for a while.
