I've used the KW v3 before (not on a clio) and they were very good, Although on my track 172 I'm using BC Coilovers currently and cant fault them looking around they seem fairly well priced too.

It will eventually become a track car but at the moment it is still being used for road occasional track car so how do people find the kw v2 on the road?

Thanks well I'm almost 100% set on them now just need to man up and buy some does anyone know where I could get them serviced/ revalve+resprung northampton Midlands area preferd

What about the Bilstein B14 Coilovers? I reckon they have to be as good as the KWs.

I have KWv3s on my Porsche 944 Turbo and they transformed the chassis IMHO. People who drove it couldn't really tell the difference but I also wonder if they were not pushing it hard enough. Part of the issue (or benefit) was that the car rode so well and lower speeds thanks to the valving technology of the v3s but there is a caveat regarding that point which I shall cover later. I scared a few fellow owners though who were saying their 944 would have been in a ditch by that point! It proved what the chassis could do. They are not what you would call a bargain though (IIRC they are around £1.3k+).

Can you even get v3s for a Clio? I thought the choices were either v1s or v2s. The caveat with the bypass valve technology in KWv3 is that it is getting around a flaw with twin tube dampers, where they will lock up on sudden impact, something which Monotubes are said not to do thus not require a bypass valve.

BG Motorsport have serviced the custom BCR's for us before as they're essentially the Ohlin internally. The problem is that the damper inserts (standard track spec that is) are that cheap, you may as well just replace them... another reason why I like them so much.

Thanks. For all the help guys I have settled for some b14's @£500 can't really grumble then when I feel I need more ill upgrade them that's if I don't switch out for a supercharged mx5 but for now ill just enjoy

Just one more thing does anyone recommend any alignment settings for fast road set up on b14's, pms strut + top mounts, pms bump steer, rear anti roll bar full interior will be on turini's with road tyres and 2118s with semi slicks like front end turn in and progressive read end rotation if that makes sence

Thanks in advance Alex

This is the standard setting for geo I recommend for fast road:
Camber F: 2 degrees -
Camber R: standard (anything from 0.5 to 1.5 degree - )
Toe F: 10 minutes toe out
Toe R: either leave standard or adjust with shims to around 5 minutes toe in.

Nice one will see what Northampton motorsport recommend when they set it up see if there's any difference and will be a good starting point that I can then dial in

How are 99% of suspension setups "too soft for track work" when as standard its designed as an out the box track car. People rave about 172 cups yet aftermarket suspension is too soft so therefore cup suspension should be too soft.

Im confused.

Because Renault spend a lot of money testing and developing a single setup to work well in all occasions. Aftermarket cannot do that for each and every vehicle so they do what they think will work... Most people that buy coil overs don't know/care about spring and damper rates, as long as the cars goes low.

I'd rather the car sit at standard height bit handle better and have more grip.

Hell yes function is 1st priority the main reason I sold my Subaru was because I just couldn't use it properly track coilovers on a bumpy back road trying to put you In the ditch and with 400hp twitch your toes and your doing silly speeds everything was a lot of money the Clio is stress free go kart well will be once the gas gha are gone and I have to try and drive it you need to work it and it's so much more involving
