Megane R26
When I first saw this Clio 172 I was astounded at how well presented it was - the entire car looked flawless and was a real credit to its owner. Monaco Blue is a fantastic colour and I've always liked 172's so this one was a real pleasure.
Unfortunately due to heavy rain I have no pics of the initial clean and cleanse process.
The process was:
- Wheels, tyres and arches with AS Smart Wheels
- Foamed with Megs Hyper Wash
- Hand Washed with Auto Finesse Lather
- Bodywork decontaminated with IronX and Tardis
- Moved inside to begin claying and machine polishing.
I clayed with I4D's Lime Clay using Valet Pro Citrus Bling for lube:

The claying process didn't remove much at all.
Next the car was dried with CG's Wooly Mammoth Drying Towel and my compressor for more intricate parts:

Next, the paintwork was assessed to check for inconsistencies in thickness and any particular areas of concern to address from the machine polishing stage - it was reading a healthy average of 160 microns.
These RenaultSport paints seem to vary wildly in terms of how difficult they are to correct so as always, I used a light combination to start off with to assess correction rates and worked up in terms of aggressiveness until I found the best combination for this paint. I was getting optimal result from Scholl's S17+ compound, via rotary used with 3M's Yellow Waffle Polishing Pad.
A few shots from the correction process.

The engine bay and interior were incredibly mint already:

I finished up with:
- Auto Finesse Crystal on the glass
- Auto Finesse Power Seal on the paint
- Mint Rims on the wheels
- Pinnacle Black Onyx on the tyres
