Longlife Exhaust Quote for 182

  Titanium 182
Hi, i got my 182 new in november and am now thinking of some mod's. I thought of maybe Exhaust with sports cat, Maxogen IK, Inlet Match, Remap in that order to start with.

Would this be the correct order or does it really matter?? any thoughts?

To start with i've got a quote from Longlife Exhaust's for 469 quid from the cat back with 3" rolled lip tailpipe's, but i can chose out of 50 others for extra, then an extra 279 quid for a highflow sports cat, so around 750! This does seem allot but i've had a full zorst from them before on my Delta HFie Turbo and it was the bollox!

Does this seem to much for a custom exhaust???

I've got about 800 to 1000 to start with for mods at the moment, should i go for the exhaust?? or start with something ellse,

Any ideas??

Mark.

  EK9 + Mfactory gearing..
id look to suspension first as its the best mod for the money, if your on a budget id just go with a panel filter, unless you can get a second hand viper or maxogen, inlet is a very good mod for the money also

  EK9 + Mfactory gearing..
should be able to get a full ss exhaust for £3-500, location? obviously if you have a 'sportcat' it bumps up the price.

  182, SRT8, RS4, GT-R
Yeah 750 is far too expensive.
Drop the sports cat and just go for a normal decat at 80 pound...does a better job too. H&S do nice custom exhausts as do prospeed for around the 500 pound mark.

yer for the 1000.....

fk coilover from john2modified =445
inlet work = 160
pannel filter and new bigger feeds to box = 50
decat = 140
new zorst may need a few more quid.,but should pay about 300

Yeah it does seem allot, i'm not really on a budget, just saved a grand and its burning a big hole!!:D

The reason i used them was they are not far (wallington branch)
My location is surrey, but anywhere in the south east is ok.. if anyone can recomend the nearest place i can get mods done???

I've read allot on here and was a bit unsure of what mods to do, as everyone has their own different ideas.

If i replace the cat, whats the situation come MOT time???

Thanks for all the input guys...:D

  C63 AMG, F430 & 172
all the de cats (offthe shelf stuff like yozzasport and gdi are bolt on bolt off in 30mins, so no probs from mot. as for the zorst

the best place imo is prospeed in cardiff!

it is worth the drive...the work is outstanding

Sounds like the Sports cat is rather expensive just to save you changing back to your OE cat for an MOT, but would the OE cat fit in the de-cat's place when you need an MOT, i.e pipe diameter, length etc when you have a custom system fitted...... if that makes any sense, LOL

I want to get the ball rolling and get started with the mod's next week, get the car booked in somewhere??, Cardiff is not a problem, there dos'nt seem to be fcuk all in the south east area anyway...

Where are H&S then ???

thanx..

if you want more power, then forget 'custom made' systems, they are more likely to loose you power.

BTB 182 exhaust system will be ready very soon. Our car is in at moment having the prototype made. They need the car for 10 days, need info like the bore, stroke, exhaust valve lift etc. This is something custom systems makers dont ask, as they throw it together in one afternoon.

it will also be track day friendly.

check: http://www.racecar.co.uk/btb/ for more info.

Manifold back system, with decat is gonna cost around 900. but beleive me, it will be worth EVERY penny!

Ok thanx guys,

Am totaly unsure who to use at the moment, seems to be many good systems, i just want whats best really. I've asked H&S for a price for a de-cat system, its not far from me to Essex, about an hour drive.

Any idea's when the BTB will be ready? where are they? and will/can they fit it?

Even better than the Orbisoud? Dont they use those on the RS Cup race cars with a clamed 10 hp increase? BTB looks very high quality, are they designed to last forever?

marky - BTB will only be availalbe through us (shed motorsport). And basically we need a few people to buy to get really good prices. As for fitting, can be done by us, or any local garage could do it, if your not confident with a spanner.

If you want the very best money can buy, you wont go wrong with a BTB.

Time scale wise, probably looking 3-4 weeks.

Jay - I can almost gaurantee they will be better than orbisound. BTB recently did a system for the Fiesat ST with a 23bhp gain! As for the longevity of them, they are very high quality stainless stell, so will last till the end of time!!

WOW! A 23hp gain, the St must have been seriously restricted as standard. Doing a bit of research into replacement exhausts now so as soon as the standard one goes, I know exactly what to buy.

BTW - you still got your stripped out saxo?

Mats Saxo had an arguement with a 12ft mud bank at Bedford and lost, the Saxo is no more i'm afraid to say. Shed Motorsport are based on the South Coast near Chichester and Bognor Regis. Its early days for us and as such we don't have dedicated premises as yet, all in good time, but this shouldn't stop us from being able to carry out most tasks as we're fairly well equipped. As for the website, we're having a meeting with a web developer tonight to sort out that side of things. In the mean time you can contact me or Mat by pm. We will keep you posted on any developments as they happen.

indeed, saxo unfortunatly is no more, but the clio will take its place!

Website will be up asap, and as soon as we have 182 back with BTB system, we will be taking orders!

Have you tried rsr tyre and wheels in Redhill? They do powerflow exhausts in there not sure what there like though or how expensive they are, but worth a try as its local.

i don't believe that for a second, maybe 10hp if your lucky

on a turbo car maybe.... and only then if your lucky

too many max power figures being banded round imo

People are too acustomed to regular run of the mill so called performance exhausts and the mediocre gains they give.

The ST figures have been proven with before and after power runs on an unbiased RR (i will try and get a link to a thread about it). We're not saying to expect similar gains as the ST as the ST also had a manifold developed for it (the 182 is already very good), the figure is merely used as an example of the expertise that BTB have. BTB spend around 10 days designing and manufacturing each systen, hence the higher price compared to custom outlets and the likes of magnex and scorpion.

We have had a power run already and will be having another once we get the car back. Watch this space.
