Well f***s knows what was actually causing the leak...

Sump gasket was fine along with crank seal - I kinda suspect the sump wasnt bolted down correctly/tight enough!

But yeah, hey ho least i know now everything was correct!

Happy to help @Mash.
When do you recon it'll get its first fire up ?
I dont know mate, I need to speak to mike about coming round to get a base map/sync sensors etc

Probably, this week I'll connect all the fuel up and see if she tries to start or even idle at all..

I certainly wont be paying that price, far from it. But yeah not "cheap"

Defintely an investment though, which im happy to pay for.

Although this is going to temp me to get a cartek power distribution module [emoji17] as that is just true tech p**n!

Pricey, but very nice.

I looked at these when I couldn't get the Megane cluster to work but was put off by the price. What set off discount can you get on these?

Been reading through but can't work out what ECU you're using to run the car?
Also have a look at the dash options through people like Plex - they're used in some of the more advanced builds/cars I've been involved with and IMO are built 100x better than the Race Technology stuff is...

Yeah as this guy said above, gen90 for the moment.

I did have a look yeah thanks for that, it looks very nice indeed, but to get the compatability I want for that ecu will probably cost a lot more than what Im paying.

Ive heard a lot of good things about the new ones, and a mate works for mclaren customer racing team for have good links with them so perfect for wiring help etc etc

I've got the same weep, it's pretty annoying but with a winter build on the cards I'm happy to leave it. Pretty sure it's the crank seal or the crank seal insert needs resealing. Reno have a special tool for inserting the crank seal but I'm sure it's around £150

Yeah mine was the sump in the end, crank seal was completely dry [emoji42]

Jeeesus, I know a few specialist who just use the old one against the new one with a block of wood to spread the load and hammer it in that way, I went with that way haha

Renault also have a special tool of putting the cam end caps back in lol, although in most cases it cant be used with all the battery and induction there

Digital dashes are the way to go! Best thing I never did on mine, its not as fancy as that one though!

So i looked up your thread ; yeah this is a great change in projects haha! I was chatting online with someone here in the south of Holland about a gearbox he had for sale, but then we kept talking for another 45 minutes about his Megane 225 powered 182Clio. He was in love with it. Blowing everything away what comes across his path and all that ... haha ! gotta love it

Managed to power up the laptop to try load some videos! hopefully they work.

The engine was cutting out (although I didn't run it for long) so somehow I managed to mess up the wiring for the 2nd fuel pump, even though its just another live spliced off the high pressure pump lol - so sorted that and now all is good and both pumps prime and flow as they should!

What configuration are you using for the master cylinder? looking at the photo obviously left side top - drivers front, im assuming Left side front is a blanked rear port. But on the right hand side of the MC have you run top right to rears and front right to the passenger side front?

I dont know, im not with the car and you cannot work that out from the photos.

Its the same as a 172 cup set up (diagnol split) so I would presume MC right front is for nearside front brake yes.

This'll be ace when it's properly running.

Just followed you on Instagram as well.

Were getting there, was having problems with my throttle body wiring.

No combination of what i thought possible combinations of wires worked. Went back to basics - throwing 12vs into it, nothing.

Took the plug out and put 12volts through movement... strange

Turns out the pins were proper wizard sleeved! (Technical term)

So removed the pins and re crimped them, installed them back and plug back in - wahey some movement with a direct 12v.

58a7c26cd9382d4b02a4d505fb3300ac.jpg

Anyway got it wored up, switched on ignition and the throttle body went bloody mad opening and closing as quick as anything.

Swapped over the main live and earth, got a clunk as ign went on.... but no movement with throttle unfortunately.

So yeh were closer but still not there yet!

Who knew I bought a diesal... map is waaay out over fueling like a oui b**ch. But hey ho, getting there!

Well clio is at her temporary home. A very kind mate of mine has lent me a little corner in his unit so I can crack on with the build with sone light and dryness.

Finally started to realise i i like the cup colour.

Anyway, removed subframe for a couple of reasons, suspected loose rack (as there is play in steering) (wasnt that) and to fit echaust gasket.

77e56d66140c70ec2a604cee665f1e70.jpg

Not sure what this play is, im suspecting its the column thats at fault [emoji35] i havent wired it in properly yet but Ive wedged a screwdriver in the lower part and theres seems to be some play somewhere in the bulky upper part.

Cut some holes - cooling I think is going to be an issue, so doing all we can, going to make some deflector plates that force air over the radaitor aswell. Something like this

Boost pipes are pretty much there, just need to mount the air filter

Getting close

You want to put a frame around the rad to catch the air rather than allow it to spill over the sides. Air is like a lazy human - takes the path of least resistance.

And you may also need to stump up the cash and have a proper motorsport spec fabricated rad. They really are worth the money.

Yeah good point, if I deflect it from above not all of it will be forced through

The whole system is much better than a standard clio one, all alloy pipes, self bleading etc just the size thats annoying. It was done by AH fab, so not backstreet

Only one way to find out really...

Ah yeah sorry I forgot who's car this was originally. AH fabrication are s**t hot, so that rad should be man enough tbf. I'd throw in a 197 stat for good measure too.
