My New Steed: Trophy #321

Some beading on a car with no lsp or polish applied just Hydro2 Chris...

Big increase on gloss on poor paint aswell mate. Simple spray on and PW off. This way heavily diluted.

Nice fella, quick fix that i like! It's not all about 30+ hour correction details, if it does the job then coolio!

Looks lovely, gally. I bet it has so much character compared to the TT!

I bet capsicum looks lovely once corrected and protected! One of the first things I'll do with mine is attack it with the flex ;)

Enjoy it mate, I'm sure you will!

If I got another Clio it would be a Trophy, I think.

Lovely mate. Look forward to the pics and updates.

Slightly. Not my clean though.

I'll get some pics up soon.

Lols. Good nature mate. Tbf if I was to wait until it was at my standard it would be summer!

Calipers and wheel bolts are going to need some head scratching! Rusty.

I don't understand the stud conversion. Seems like the stupidest mod in the world. I don't actually see what difference it would make from bolts. Track car maybe but now really going to make any difference to a daily.

You can buy fancy bolts also, doesn't have to be nuts. I'm going for Silver bolts, nice and clean, possibly just buy a new set. Any cheap set of 12 Silver ones? Obviously i'll just refurb the locking ones.

Not fancy those TPI Bolts? Though they are kind of expensive... For bolts...

I have black TPI bolts and black Mcguard lockers on mine.

They are quite cool, look like a spline fit ( I think thats what its called) but they are just normal 17mm bolts and the lockers are 19mm.

I hate those spline ones! Had them on the Frp, terrible idea, especially with any corrosion, can end up with some serious issues getting them off.

I just want standard Silver or Anthracite bolts, i'll use the locking wheel bolts that I have. Need to get those calipers refurbed too.

Studs, because for a detailer like yourself it makes getting the wheels on and off 10x easier!

They come off once a year, once they're sealed you don't ever have to take them off to clean them imo.

Why is it easier? The process has to be the same. Shirley?

So bits bought so far:

New Plates with original number. Front is smaller as always, rear standard.

197 Style Renault Sport rear badge
Rear Number plate lamp
Tax Disc holder
Headlight bulbs and 4 Silvervisions

Interior decal set. Ady is going to knock me up a Black set and have "Trophy 321/500" where the airbag on should be.

Interior strips done red with handles and roof rails, easier to them all at the same time. Will crack on with them once I get the decals as I need to lacquer over them anyway.

Yanoo Kit here ready to go on.

Dave has a rear Bench for me i'll need to pick up and get changed over.

I'll try and get the bumper off next week to coat the plastics. Hate that faded grey look!

You might get a picture soon. The car is nothing short of awesome. Great little pocket rocket. Still doing 35mpg in constant short trip town driving.

Got a lovely drive tomorrow, should be great fun!

Brilliant. I'm on the hunt for one to replace the derv in the next couple of month, can't wait!

Great sounding plans :) You wont regret the Yanoo kit, drop me a pm if you have any issues or look at my project thread (Trophy 185 story). Did try to cover the process as detailed as I could in there.

My Dad will probably be fitting it mate. There isn't much he doesn't know.

I've got the instructions and i'll print out your process as it's a bit foreign to me!

Any tips? I have 2 rings and a little orange plastic thing. Just remove Renault bits and fit Yanoo bits or is there some fannying required?

It's all pretty simple really just bit of a pain/fiddly with getting the metal rings together with the original plastic housing inside (have to sand/file down to the tolerances given) so trial and error but all easy.

Might not need the orange insert thing (instructions cover it) but if you have the newer type pivot ball, and you should have with Trophy you wont have to fit it as the ball wont split to put the orange insert inside.

Make sure you buy some white lithium grease, digital vernier and some emery cloth/light file. :)

Still no pictures! I'm guessing your out enjoying it rather than taking pics though.
I want a trophy!

I have indeed mate. I'll get a picture at some point. The weather is crazy up here at the minute.

New plates are here. Fit them tomorrow and new badge also.

Not that I don't know what a trophy looks like ;)
What you spraying interior wise? You mentioned grab handles?

No just the dash strips, wheel insert and gear insert, outer door handles and roof rails.

Should be all fitted by this time next week. Had only been waiting on the stickers really.

Not ssssure if serial. :o

Red of course. Brighten up the inside aswell whilst looking oem.

Went for this small one instead of Airbag...

Yeah I'm not a fan of colored interior trim either I'm afraid.

Other than that it's spot on so far, look forward to some detailed shots.

They'll be fine. Like the Silver trophy sticker. Hmmm decisions.

They are more in your face than I thought but i'm painting s**t anyway.
