todays update.
took the engine to the car today
removed the ABS and did new brake lines and started cleaning the bay, also stuck the new injectors and the secondary rail on, im having a dilemma weather to also stick a billet primary rail on or not... its like another 200 quid for the 850cc top feed injectors and the rail lol but it looks really nice! will see how much my mate is gonna charge me...
anyway here are some pics of the rail
this weekend im stripping the loom back to the wires and removing all the connectors i dont need (there is about 15 connectors to remove from the old twin turbo rubbish!)
tomorrow im gonna order a load of loom tape (not electrical tape as the glue melts and it goes all nasty, loom tape doesnt have a sticky side but when you stretch it, it bonds to itself and then heat shrinks it, but its still easy to remove. also gonna get a load of new loom covering, the conveluted tubing stuff) so the loom will look all nice and tidy
going back tuesday to finish degreasing the bay, toothbrush ready lol! then i got a few brackets to remove then im gonna spray it black (was going to do it pink, but its going to be a massive pain in the arse and i think the way the engine is a nice smooth black will look classier) also cut out the top crossmember (not a strengthening part) and im having a new stronger bar put in to mount my intercooler off, which JUST fits ha! and i will also fab up some rad mounts.
im running the stock rad for a month while running in then a supplier is getting me a thicker alloy rad to replace it with, hopefully if i can get the rad and intercooler mounted i can get some templates made up for the ducting as im going v mount intercooler (rad is on a 45degree lean bottom at the front of the car) then the intercooler sits on top of it, ducting on the sides and possibly a flat bottom under the engine so air is forced through the rad and intercooler, its done alot in japan and america, you can buy ready made kits but your looking at 1500 quid for it!
