Nightmare fitting new wheels!

Car  Monaco Blue Mk2
I hate locking nuts!!

Went today to fit my new turini's and spray my calipers and drums silver.
Done both on the drivers side, but I still have 2 standard Clio s alloys on the passenger side! lol The locking nuts are fucked, absoloutley shite.
Would I be best getting the two that are stuck in drilled out, or getting a standar bolt welded on to the locking one, and getting them off that way, problem then is, the front one we got the locking nut onto but couldn't budge so have a bad feeling it might be cross threaded. Either way the nut is shagged now so looks like I need all 4 removing and some new locking wheels nuts.

How much do you reckon I'll pay for that and how much will I be looking at for new locking nuts?

i just sold a set of renault locking wheel nuts to my mate for a fiver.

try hammer a socket over it, or price up one of them reverse thread screw things, you drill a hole then start to screw in this big screw, as its tightening your loosening the wheel nut, or goto a bodyshop and get them air chisseled off (will damage alloy)

Do as above or....

I work as an It Manager for the AA. Get a puncture (Let the air out) tell em you cant get the locking nuts off and then they will use their specialist equipment to cut the nut off and blow the tyre back up and just say that a kid let the air out. Works every time. ;)

We got my mate to do this and he got away with it

I'm not with the AA :(

I'm just gonna go down to budget or somewhere similar tomorrow and see what they say.

Join the AA and then call them out!

As said above. Wait 24hrs so that your cover is valid (Or you will have to pay an excess charge of £39 for call out on that day) Whatever you say dont say that you have the problem when you take it out as every single call is recorded stored, logged and monitored.

They can pull the call back up in a matter of seconds! Wait 24hrs and then get us to do it for you! As said before it works everytime! :D

Ha ha, I reckon they'd of been a bit suspicious especially with two new wheels on one side, and two 'puntures' on the two old wheels on the other side! lol

Got them drilled off and the two new ones put on for me at budget this morning for a tenner.

They can suspect but they have to PROVE it and wont refuse service. But result either way
