So its been a good while since I last put up any pictures / updates.
I’ve been waiting on a long long list of parts which I am still waiting for half of them to arrive, I have also...
Had to deal with Ads 172 which I....
Fitted new rear disks and bearings
New abs rings
Fitted new rear pads
Fitted 4 pots
Fitted new disks
Fitted stainless lines
Fitted a new stealth exhaust
Re-furled the wheels
Changed the engine mounts
Full brake bleed
I’m sure Ad will be posting pics of his Clio up later once it has had a wash!
Then just when I had finished my cousin popped round as his project opal manta has blown the water pump taking out various other parts with it....
So about 30 hours later.... that was fixed..
Woooohooo can start on the Clio!
Time is pressing on and this thing needs to be ready for march when we are back at Nuremburg! I have decided that I need to be able to finish the interior and close the door on that by the end of December. The dash is causing me huge problems and if I’m honest I cant be arsed even starting back work on it, I will need to soon but I thought it best to press on with the other interior bits!
On my list to be finished by the end of December is...
Finish the sub frames for the seats.
Finish Removing all the odd bits of tar
Fit the polly carb windows all round
Finish the dash
Install stack dash
Install boost gauges
Get my welder friend to come fit all the roll cage
Fit the carbon fibre door cards
Fit the aluminium checker plate floor pads
Fit the seats
Fit the harnesses
Re fit the loom
Get the heater matrix sorted and mated with the carbon fibre dash
Fit the OMP wheel and boss
Plumb in the fire extinguisher
Have the whole car painted inside
Make a carbon fibre surround for the gearstick
Fit the carbon fibre boot with the pollycarb window in it
Fit the hydraulic handbrake mech
Fit the Red Top battery and get Big Bog to wire the fuel cut off, kill switch etc
Fit the ethanol injection tank and run the plumbing to the bay
Fit the N20 tank and plumbing to the bay
And lots more which I cant think of!
The windows had to come out to enable us to fit the polly carbs... so tried with cheese wire.. no luck, bought a tool which was for removing them which just scratched the paint so Bob had a brain storm...
Awaiting VID.. come on Bob
Then took a Stanley blade to the rest of the bonding agent .... then hovered up the glass LOL
Next off was the boot lid and glass, this is easy.... just remove the gas struts (two clips per side) and then there is two 16mm bolts holding the hinges onto the roof panel.. quick knock with the hammer and off it came! I then removed the hinged from the steel boot ready to fit to the fibreglass boot lid.
Next job was I am having 1.25 degree camber shims made up so I had to remove the rear brake and sub axel assembly... to do this ...remove the rear shock and support the axel on a jack, remove the two 17mm calliper bolts, remove the 30mm castle nut holding on the disk, remove the 11 nut retaining the brake line screw, remove the two 18mm main calliper bolts and then you are left with the 4 bolts holding the stub axel on .. remove these.. and your left with..

So yesterday I got a delivery finally from cobra for my;
2 x Cobra Evolutions S (one in GT width)
Renault sport embroidery on the front of the head rest and on the rear of the headrest
2 x aluminium 5 mm side mounts
Got home and fitted the side mounts to the seats and placed them in the car! They look out of this world but I had one concern... I didn’t think that they would fit in with the overkill roll cage I have..
L So I decided to re fit the roll cage (this is a b**ch as it gets scratched to f**k fitting it and is one of the most awkward things I have ever had to do in my life!)
But after a hour or so the cage was back in and ...... phew they fit but only just! And they look s**t hot with the green cage etc! Barrp barrpppp!
fitted some cheaky green badges too
and one of the grim dash..... Lord help me!
