Russ_16v's ITB'd & Caged 182 Track Car (Was Crispy's)

  TrackCar & F30 330d
he got 428s. Should have had 421s IMO, but there you go

your alternator bracket is bolted to the wrong side of that part of the block, that's why it looks to be too far over

I did a little bit more research and Burp put the Tentioner bracket on the other side which would put it even more over to the left. Bit looks like its actually ok

Also see the New Vs Old Fan

IMG_4643.jpg

Had a bit of weight saving too which is allways a bonus :)

Standard Radiator (dry) - 3.390 kg
Standard Fan - 2.576 kg

5.966 kg

New Radiator (dry) - 1.988 kg
New Fan - 969 g

2.957 kg

So saving 3.009 Kg :) Every little counts

What rad and fan is that boss and do you think it will cool as well ? silly question i know but im looking at a smaller rad package as my OE setup is a bit clumsy around the my bodies.

  182cup & 172 racecar
We have raced with this set up all year and had no problems at all, infact at Silverstone the fan wasn't working and was still ok.

  TrackCar & F30 330d
There's a few people on here that have run the same set up, Laxy used the same set up on his track car and that was running 240ish BHP

The fan is only needed for when your in traffic, as soon as your driving the car fan stops.

The rad wont be plumed in for a few months but cant wait to build the car back up :)

With the rad, don't trust the sikky little clips that come with it.Ours fell off (after many trips to gravel traps etc),so we have put nuts and bolts through the rad.

\been off line for a while. Why did you remove the brake lines on the rear axle? no real need

Yeah didnt really need to but wanted to have Braded lines running on the inside of the car to make it look neat + i like waisting money lol

Had lots of other goodies come through the post yesterday too so update sooooooooon!

OH, do you mean the fan? not the rad, I hope the rad doesnt fall off when i'm driving lol.

From reading your race car thread i decided not to buy the Fan fitting kit and do the same as you with bolting it on to the rad or somthing similar. When rebuilding the car i'm trying to do it right first time so i dont have to fix the problems mid way through next year.

Hopfully get the engine painted this weekend :)

DSC02942.jpg

All painted

DSC02943.jpg

I think it looks much much better so i was really pleased with it :)

Then properly degreased the block and masked it up

All sprayed up in black

DSC02947.jpg

It was getting late so i replaced the gearbox bits and refitted the gearbox mount which i had sprayed black.

I'm really pleased with how it looks and i think its gona look great when the rest is done.

I'll be going outside tomorrow and will be painting the head, camcover, itb's and other brackets.

Also got to drop the sub frame and paint that.

That looks mint mate, nice option (Y) Pity you couldn't tuck the wires to keep it looking that way

I really would of tried to get the engine out... for the sake of a few more nuts and bolts :(

Looks smart though!

Yeah i did want to get the engine out but i have no where to store the engine, the garages are full of cars. But i've painted it pretty much all over so it looks good from all view points.

I just need to keep telling myself i'm just smartening it up, not entering it into a concores competition.
