Class thread mate. I've just bought a 04 182 to put on the track for £900 and this thread is my inspiration.ha. Did you send the calipers away or do them yourself?

Cheers

Love the thread, top work. Where did you mount the inside lap belt eyebolts? are they in a original hole or did you make a new one somewhere?

Few parts arrived today, the most important being the caliper rebuild kit so i can get the brakes back on.

Ordered some DS2500's and braided lines to go with them.

Im away to work on Monday for 2 weeks so hopefully before then ill have the car pretty much done. I've still got an electrical issue somewhere, I'm guessing its a bad earth so will have to have a look at that at some point as well.

Having no luck finding a Volvo alternator bracket so the mrs dad is going to knock me something up at work of similar design, looking forward to that.

Cheers mate, i got a @Michaelfoz to strip them down and clean up then i fitted the seals etc myself, very easy to do.

Thanks mate, i fitted one eyebolt to the hole the seatbelt bar went in to, think it was a M10. And for the gearbox side i bought one of these brackets that bolt to the subframe and bend up to act as an eyebolt.

Nice build thread, great read. From what was a cheap cup to a very decent track car. Well done, you going Clio sport show in august?

Update

Been away working in Holland for the past 4 weeks so not had much time on the car. Left it to get mot'd when i was away but unfortunately it wont pass until i have the epas installed, however luckily i have other ways to getting through it haha!

Got the car back to my house and first off began tidying up all the airbag/seatbelt cables & ecu so there out of sight. Thought about chopping out wires through a diagram but guaranteed id brake something!

17137090708_fe8d58c8a8_c.jpg

I then got my battery in and wired in, still need to mount the kill switch somehwere.

17298837016_93aa1229fe_c.jpg

Then got its first wash in my ownership

16704557033_0b52d8f61c_c.jpg

Fitted a 3/4 plate, scoda splitter and mounted the mechanical switch for the kill switch.

17137088628_9215e7ffa7_c.jpg

I finally found a ph1 air box, thanks to @Budgie for this, the yellow cable ties go perfect too

The car was also driopped off at the garage to fix the limp mode problem and turn off all the lights on the dash. Once fixed a took it for a blast round the industrial estate, ran perfect abd fealt great. Noticed a drop of oil under the gearbox bell housing join, annoyed as i changed the crank seal 😧 Can't stand the interior the way it is just now either so hoepfully get it sprayed soon to match the cage.

The last couple of days i ordered the following:

PMS race exhaust system without silencer
6 point safety devices cage with cross diagonal and cross door bars in white from @markfishy
Sabelt steering wheel from @BIGASH
Momo boss from @Ph1 Tom
New headlights
Stud Kit

Hopefully next week ill have the exhaust on a have it road legal to test it out

Great thread - loved it so far. So jealous of your engine bay! I wish I had a place to drop the engine and clean it up myself, though I presume I would be breaking several underground parking laws!
Yep - the lack of blue spray in the interior would bug me too. Also, your headlights need polishing up! :)

You've done a class job on it mate. If mine turns out half as good I'll be happy

Thanks mate I'll need to keep an eye on yours

Couple more bits added the past month, been away with work a lot so not had much time.

Got the PMS exhaust fitted, what a noise comes off it! So glad i went for the unsilenced version.

17992456164_bd6ab9a06d_z.jpg

Added some 15mm spacers to the front and 10mm to the back along with a PMS stud kit.

Lastly i butchered my dash to mount the kill switch, not the tidiest but does the job

17896800484_6d803f3f0d_z.jpg

Been struggling to get an MOT with the pas removed so i recently bought a saxo pump from Morgan on here to replace. Looks a good bit of kit so will get this fitted hopefully this weekend.

Safety devices cage should be here in a few weeks also.

10mm may rub on the rear mate and you'll hear it
at knockhill, I do have camber shims on rear so that adds a few mm....

  Audi A8 3.0tdi/172.
Cracking job mate. Looks spot on.

Regards the rear wiring tidy up, how you hide it all, just unplug and move it all?

Do you have to pull the boot wiring through and that?

And the gearbox surround and parts there, how easy was that to tidy up?

Cheers mate, yeah just unplugged it all and then fed it through the bodywork, quite easy.

The seat wiring and all that i just tied u and stuffed in the gearbox for now, didn't want to chop anything as id 100% break something.

Small Update

Finally found a rear bumper from a member on here, the original one had some damage and covered in residue from the bump strips, looks 100x better now!

I was then looking through some photos of the car while away at work this week, as much as i love the cooksports on new shocks (the entire 1/2 a mile I've driven) it just doesn't sit right on 15's. I went for some Bilsteins off a member on here. I decided to buy another set of wheels also with 4 new r888's, went for 2118's in white to match the safety devices cage that'll be here next week.

The stance is much better now, I've still to fit the rears so still a bit high at the back.

Thanks mate. I'm not sure how much I've spent but it's definately escalated quite quickly, I've not even touched the engine, just shows how easy it all adds up on these!
