Looks awesome mate, really good work.

Needs a transplant or a properly engine building now, as that shell is SO writing cheques that your engine cant cache in terms of how fast it makes your car look though!

Genuinely not sure, had a few reports that it's a bit of a pig of a conversion.
Would like around 280-300bhp, have been speaking to flan about fabrication and he's up for it.(waay beyond me)

Besides I've seen flans build and he has some mad skills there! But I don't know which direction I want to go...

There is a part of me that really wants a turbo lump with Antilag in a Clio for s***s and giggles...not really much need on a K04...but could be amusing Pmsl

Plan is just to get her on track ATM engine will come..all good things eh!

What engine you using in the mean time? Bodied f4r would be a sensible option.

agreed but only a weekend to put it in and if you buy a complete secondhand setup you'd get your money back.

Yes mate it will be great for that, my mk1 has never been over that power and I've always had fun, scalped loads of stuff too!

Ok here is the difference in the correct Lunar Grey, and my Previous Lunar Ghey!


Hopefully not long now, interior and cage are getting painted this week, 727 cage and D60 interior.


Taken these parts home to aviod scratching.

Touch ups required my shoddy primer

Things still to do:-
Touch up cage..(pic3 you can see where my primer wasn't very good)
Remove bumpers and wings for painting
Paint car (lol)
Touch in the cage in the engine bay (in the old colour)
Lacquer grill
Flat and polish
Reassemble

Paint finish is fantastic...and it's not had a wet sand and polish yet?!?
Proberly OTT for track!

Looks really epic now mate.
Although I must admit the sunroof shell looks a bit out of place with such a comprehensive cage, seems a bit of a mismatch.

Cant wait to see it finished though, certainly been a long time in the making now.

Have you made a decision about where to end up engine wise with it?

yeah sun roof is a bit of a let down really, toyed so much with a re skin... but its an expensive panel (circa £450) which is half the cost of a carbon replacement i just couldnt justify a standard panel.(although in hindsight i proberly could of) I shall fit a carbon composite sunroof plug in the mean time and toyed with the idea of a Subaru Type RA scoop.. but not feeling it today tbh lol

Yeah time is of no meaning, im in no real rush. Just want things done right ya know.

Engine for now will stay the stock ish F7R, which is enough to cut my teeth with on track, for now. Then Either fit an F4R on Bodies as they seem to make good power.

The VAG 1.8T conversion is VERY tempting to me But ALOT of people have told me its a bit of a shite conversion very tight. But is proberly the only way i'll get a good honest 300bhp out of her. So tbh is still the main train of thought.

but for now.. i just want to get her done with her currant engine and get her out on track! LOL

Dash2 is about 1200 quid with the datalogger if you buy them seperate so you can use the logger in others cars if you are getting that as well, and if you add in the ecu interface as well for whatever ECU you end up running (IMHO its a bit pointless having a dash2 and not running it as thats half the functionality missing without it) and you are near to your whole 1500 quid budget just for that

Do love mine though, despite them being expensive.

Electronics will be the last thing to buy.

Going to consentreate on getting her more complete as a car,

probabably in this order
windscreen - local company
poly Windows, ACW plastics
GRP dash - Found a company that make one i like. verys simple does the job and nothing else lol (mk2 dash wont fit either! damn cage)
seats - still not sure what i want yet.
harnesses
battery and cage --- Can i mount a race battery flat? (underseat?)
Dash2 display & Data Cable - Figure the if i use a 172 digital speedo sensor from the gearbox it saves me buying another set of hubs with abs rings
Ecu - Omex/Emerald/Canems/ megasquirt?...(i dont like the look of MS just looks cheap but its gotta be better than the mk1 ecu)

Think there is ALOT more than £1500 there PMSL! S'only Money lol... i know i'll never see any of this again and i'll do it now before im married with kids and find it impossible.

Yes you can mount a race battery flat mate. If you mount it under your seat just make sure you've got enough space between the base of the seat and the battery. I can measure mine for you if you need to know how tall they are (including the holder) for a varley redtop 25.

Ive mounted my race battery where the passenger side rear seat would have been, just because I know thats where it will help the cornerweights the most.

By the way I noticed you have a black dash top then a grey dash then a grey centre console, that colourscheme might look better with a black center console instead?

which sets me up pretty well for Itbs next year some time

New gutter rails well I say new….. second hand but all in good nick, still black not faded …still flat not curled up

New clips and tabs for bump strips
Lol they came in red whoop

Fitted new clips to the weatherseals down the a pillars

And fitted rubbers for sealed rear windows ready for my poly windows whoop

more to come in the next few days i expect lol
