V6 Mk11

Hi guys, I have just brought Vee6s Clio Mk 2, Illiad blue, 14,500 miles. Numberplate is V6TUY, (reads toy !) . Could sell the plate if anyone interested ? So far very pleased with it. I have a couple of questions: Should I have a seperate remote for the tracstar, I only have the keyremote, also what paperwork should I have as I only have the service manual and the handbook. How do I register the Tracstar, Olympian Renault in Poole were pretty useless when I went in to speak to them ... Trying to get it complete, just been quoted £130 for another key as I only have the one. Saw a red one on the M4 near Bristol Yesterday with a plate beginning M10 or something- it was going too fast the other way!

My MK2 came with 2 remotes for the doors. The tracker is hidden in the car and does not have a seperate remote. You should have paperwork relating to trackstar, includes a slip with the name of the trackstar fitter etc.

Its good to hear more than one V6 will be going to a good home this weekend. Should be picking up my Illiad Blue V6 tomorrow too, in fact the garage has just called to tell me Im on for tomorrow. Cant wait.

I bought my first new car from Olympian Renault in Poole, a white H reg 5GT Turbo. I loved that car. I remember all the races I had with my mate in his 2.8i Capri 280, aah - Happy Days!. I had to let it go 18months later though because I got hammered on the insurance big time. That was when the insurance industry killed off the hot hatch in the early nineties. Bought it new for £11.5k and pxd it for about £3.5k or something. It was mint with less than 10K miles. I still wish Id never sold it. Just got insurance on the vee for about £500! Benefits of not being 21 any more I guess.

I will also be facing the trackstar thing although from what I understand its all pretty straightforward. Phone up, ask them to locate the car and pay the dosh.

Another V6 and Fiat coupe owner!! - Whats going on :D

Trackstar can be a bit of a pain, I was told the sim card needed replaced £45 the an engineer to fit it £60 then the subscription £320 for ownership or £120 for year.

I also have a Citroen C5 diesel but thats not something I talk about much!Still, got to have something sensible to commute the 500mls a week in.

I really need to sell the Coupe but its going to be tough. I still look out the window at it and love the design. If it was rear wheel drive then I probably wouldnt bother with the Clio. The Coupe is 6 years old shortly and it needs the dreaded cam belt change. I havent driven it for months so the other half is putting pressure on to sell it. Now I know thats a logical thing to do but I dont do logic when it comes to cars...

Class choice of car v6. I think it has the same sought of presence as the escort cosworth, definately worth more than the sum of its parts. There is certainly something really special about it. I want one real bad.

that other V6 going down the motorway would be me :) (although my plate is nothing like M10 - but it would have been a blur :D ) and funilly enough olympian in bournemouth is where I bought mine from.

You will need to phone Tracstar up and pay £33 a quarter for it to be enabled, no extra remote or anything like that needed.

You cant just phone Trackstar and pay over the phone...............they MUST have a completed application form................it took them 6/7weeks to sort out mine................I did call and say Ill pay upfront rite now but oh no they have to have a form................in the end the insurance were breathing down my neck cause they need a copy of the Certificate and the invoice.

But hey like Im really bothered now eh (y).............what a car eh!

Funilly enough my car was bought from Olympian and they were VERY helpfull and answered any questions I had and the previous owner spoke highly of them aswell.
