Just realised I've still not taken proper pics of the cage, must get on that.
Been using the car as a daily for the last week which has highlighted that the exhaust has a blow in the centre section and I really should sort the charging system.
Other than that I've just reinsured it with @Neil@greenlight for a whole £244. Could've been £230 but I wanted to be able to commute in it if the daily is broken.

That is cheap for the insurance! I am more than that for my renewal with @Neil@greenlight and i don't have commuting and my policy is for limited mileage!

I think that's about it but I've probably forgotten something. Interesting writing it all down, I don't ever think its all that well specced but its not bad at all. Few things I want to change on top of regular maintenance, would love a PMS exhaust and some new seats and harnesses. Won't happen soon but hopefully it'll get there 1 day.

Not the most exciting update in the world but had to do the alternator in the end. Swapped the battery for the one from the BG as well. And changed the negative lead since that had been upside down for over a year and had eaten into the terminal.
Mot done, only managed about 2100 miles in the last year with about 500 of them being in the last 6 weeks!
Nope, nice clean pass. Couple of things I want to do slightly better than they are just now though. As always.
First wash of the year. Wheels took longer than the car. Nowt special, just a plain old wash

Should add we spent the day up at Knockhill today, the car parks where filthy so when we came back I said to the wife "I'm gonna wash the car, it's filthy"

It got a little faster this morning
Over the last few weeks I've been using the AF rejuvenate kit, just a hour here and there but got a chance to get it out and rinse the dust off before waxing it. Absolutely delighted with the results of it. I'll do proper pics once it's all finished but here's a sneak peek.
Time for another wee update after a busy time with the flamer recently. You may have seen these pics in another thread but I like to keep them together here too.
Recently I used tar and then iron remover, clay and the Auto Finesse rejuvenate kit on the paintwork and its come up lovely, all things considered

The day after these pics @Djw Dave and myself headed off to Automek in East Kilbride to get the alignment sorted
Thats about as good a rear axle as you'll get on a clio! No shims or anything like that.
Rather annoyingly the very small box oil drip I had became quicker, then it became pouring and it lost about half a litre of oil overnight thanks to a tear in the inner CV joint which meant a change had to happen. Since the camber had been set I didn't want to be touching the strut bolts at all but after 120,000 miles, 17 years and many track days the driveshaft is basically welded to the hub and no matter how hard I hit it I couldn't loosen it. So had to strip it all down and put a spare hub on. Dave kindly gave me a driveshaft and out the 2 of them I made 1 acceptable one but it has some small tears in the outer boot. So I've bought one from @Fraser.J. and will redo it all again and get the alignment checked, I think I've added just a smidge too much camber when rebuilding it.
The important thing is it held for lasts trackday. Great to get out again after about 7 months, nerves were raised though! Car went really well and I'm down to failry consistent 62 second laps with the best being 62.2. The new track defo helped but I'd like to think I've improved myself and the car too! Did have the biggest moment of my life but didn't hit anything or roll so that was good, shame I don't video my laps anymore!
Next bits of development for it is I'd love a new exhaust, seats and harnesses but, as ever, this is all on a very small budget!

What's the reason for the cup alternator setup? Do you still have hydraulic PAS too? And the cup wishbones are a straight fit and worth doing?
Just to get rid of the aircon, being the track car I'm not fussed.
Still running the hpas, no plans to change from that as I prefer the feel of it to epas and manual is shite!

Oh and yeah, the cup wishbones go straight on, gives a bit more caster. Same as 182 wishbones too
A busy wee week for the flamer again.
After the brake bleeding and swapping and clean on Sunday I remembered that DS1.11 squeal like f**k, especially when cold. So, every little bit of heat helps...
Professional to a fault I tell you. Then back to automek for an alignment check as I was sure something had moved during my high speed off roading session.
I was right! So with that sorted there was nothing left to do but track it! It was touch and go if it was going ahead with the amount of wind we had yesterday.
Then of course what else is there to do after a track day bar more work like putting it back to road brakes and emptying all the tools out.
I've done 3 days on the DS1.11 now and I'm really happy with how little they wear and how well they hold up. But, they're wearing a bit funny. I've been religious about making sure they're always used in the same position. Anyone any ideas? @George@RTR_Parts ?
I think I'll swap inner and outer for the next one and accept they'll feel a bit crap until they're level again.
