Adeys F4RT Twingo GT

If the clutch holds ok i reckon 267 and similar torque on stock injector.

I'd be mega chuffed at that, I will be asking Chris to keep the torque low especially early in the revs, similar to the old 1.2t map he did. Should put less stress on everything and i dont want to be trying to deal with mad wheelspin everytime I touch the throttle. A nice flat delivery will be exactly what I'd want. Power wise anything close to 250bhp gives me similar power to weight as an e92 m3, that's my target I think.

Exactly like this with 100 more on each leg would be great. I asked Chris to do it like this on the 1.2 for the reasons above, made it very tractable rather than a massive slug of torque early on and it was like that for 2 years with no major issues.

I've taken a touch more camber out, filled up with petrol and loaded up the car ready for tomorrow. Chucked in some tools, spare wheel, jack and fluids just in case. I don't want to call the RAC for something silly. Paranoid much... there's a definite grumble from the drivers side shaft when turning slightly so hopefully it hold out for the trip 🤦🏻‍♂️ I haven't got all the parts here to make another yet either urgh. This is going to be a nerve racking trip. In fact the trip there will be the longest drive it's had

I've created a Monster!

Wow what a day, a long day. The car, pretty much untested was given a 140mile run up to Runcorn to see Chris @ EFI Parts. It got there so that was a decent start. After some calibration writing and building from the wizard we started to do some runs but things weren't behaving as they should. Boost control wasn't playing ball and over shooting to mega numbers when not wanted and other running low, after lots of wasted time it was pin pointed to a dodgy boost control valve. Luckily I had a spare so once that was swapped in things progressed. The ecu is a bit of a crap for mapping as it take 6/7min to upload each change that's made unlike the Meg ecu which can be done in 40 seconds. Any way scoff did his magic wizard stuff and the numbers kept coming. Initially I went in with hopes of 250bhp/250lbft and I've come away with a bonkers 277.8bhp and 300.6lbft (280/300) and in this car with the long gearbox its absolutely batshit. It comes up on things so quickly it surprised me a fair bit, it will light the tires at 30mph with little issue too. I've only played with one car and that was a 2020 plated s4, he initially jumped me but once 5th came it just pulled along side it with relative ease, when i saw 135mph on the dash i s**t a brick and stomped on the brakes. Its actually silly and needs a shorter box. Said driver wouldn't play again and wouldn't even make eye contact either 😂

I'm absolutely amazed it held together, the exhaust wasn't a restriction and how completely nuts it is.

I didn't get much in the way of pics or vids as I spent more time cowering from the expected explosion....

So what does that make it bhp per tonne? And importantly £ per bhp? Bet there isn’t much near it?

I need to get it on some scales really but I'm sure it was 950 to 980kg new, heavier engine now but a few bits missing too. Got to be close to 280/290ish bhp per tonne 🤷🏻‍♂️

I will tally up the cost later on today, the mishap with the box bumped the build cost up and mapping wasn't cheap but its properly cheap overall for the performance 😁

Well I think it’s great mate and hats off to you for pulling it off the way you have. We see people blow thousands ruining 1*2’s to make much less power. You just mosey on in with your 280hp twingo, you smashed together on your drive with a selection of parts bin spares. It’s absolutely genius! I now want one! Like really want one...in fact I now have a saved search for a twingo 😂

Theres a mk2 laguna GT up my way for £800 if anyone wants to copy! I viewed it when it was at £1600 and decided it was worth about £750 but didn't want to make the offer and get shot in the face. Been for sale for months.

Same as me, I pretty much have a twingo lined up. Just on the hunt for an engine and I like the idea of the diesel gearbox with taller gearing. Could Gloucester be full of 225 Twingos
