Oh yes remember it now you should keep it mate no one will get in with the new locks and a composite door.

What you getting next?

I know I know house is like Fort Knox now but I ordered the new car last year so it has to go I’m afraid.

It’s something A LOT less desirable 🙊 as it’s just to get me to and from work.

Another year, another service and MOT on the RS3. Failed first go round on a split fuel cap seal but a few pounds later and an overnight loan car from Audi so they could get the part in and all was well.

The service manager had a good chat with me when I picked it up, said he really liked it and it was in good condition, said the new ones are nice but lots of electronic stuff that can/does go wrong. He also started stroking the alcantara on the wheel saying he liked it :ROFLMAO:

Front pads were noted at 30% left at the service back in January, same when they did the health check at MOT time, then on the way home from the MOT the pad warning bonged away :ROFLMAO:

To be fair I last changed the front pads and discs 6 years ago so don't mind changing them now after all that time.

New Brembo Prime discs ordered from Autodoc (£190 each, bargain!), and some DS Performance Pads that some of the owners recommended (£360! not so bargain). The pads had good reviews as not being as harsh as race pads, but being better than stock, and importantly with the supplied shims they shouldn't be as squealy.

Audi wanted £850 to do just the pads, pads and discs was nearly £2k I think!

Health check also noted a screw in one of the tyres that I didn't know about, it has just over 3mm left so will probably just get them changed. It's on the rear where I'm still running the MPS4S, they've been on 2 years now so will get them swapped out for some Contisport 7s for about £280 for the pair to match the front.

Also felt a little bad not showing it much love lately so picked up a new pollen filter and new air filter to whack in.

Other than that it's insurance and warranty time as well (this time of year is always expensive!).

Jobds to do, get the brakes fitted, would love to do them myself but don't have the kit/time, sort the new tyres out, and maybe look at a wheel refurb.

Despite all that I still find it a relatively cheap car to run for what you get, perk of being the baby RS I guess.

Have you done the rear discs and pads, if so what did you put on? My rear pads have life left but the discs are worse for wear, so thinking I'll get them changed when mine goes in for a service in the summer. Want some that won't rust in the centre and look crap and most importantly don't squeal. It was rear Brembo prime discs I have as my number one choice at the moment.
Sounds like a great deal on the fronts, I made the mistake of letting the garage order front discs and pads, cheaper than Audi but still eye watering, stupidly massive discs on the front.

For the rears, which were also done 6 years ago or so, I went with the Brembo drilled discs (can’t remember if they were their max discs) from AUTODOC, they had the coated centres so they wouldn’t rust, and then Brembo pads.

They were all pretty cheap from AUTODOC from what I remember

Thanks, was thinking ATE for pads as they make the Audi pads and had heard some bad things about some Brembo pads being shite, but not sure if that's just a thing for their cheapest options from ECP etc.
