Thats a straight sale to Renault
I need something for doing higher mileage in - I love the 182 but it isnt a car for long journeys
I doubt the next car will be a Renault though..........
I bought a cheap hack when I had a VX220
Its a pain;
2 lots of insurance
Parking 2 cars at home
Youll hate the car compared to the 182
Reliability
Safety
Having to wash 2 cars
Ive got a NA 2.2 VX and a 182 with cup packs
The VX is quicker from a standing start, but the Clio is quicker once you get going
The key points to consider are;
- you feel like youre in a special car in the VX, in the Clio you dont
- If you are an average driver you will be quicker in...
Yep the MCS was the other car I considered
But to get to 182 performance and spec it would have had to be a Works one with god knows what options added - prob £20k or so for a 6 month old one?
Nice cars but I paid around half that for my Clio!!!!
Ignore comments about the turbo being the much better car
The 2.2 is sometimes forgotten about now that the turbo is about - but the 2.2 handles better and is the rawer experience
But if you are into tuning and massive power, the turbo is the better option
Ive got a 2.2 VX and a 182..............
The Clio is slightly slower 0-60 tha the VX, but slightly quicker 60-100, so 0-100 is similar
Im actually selling the VX - its a wnonderful car, but for my average driving ability I am actually a quicker driver in the Clio
You can use a VX through...
Ive got a 2.2 VX220
VX220 pros/cons (cant comment on a V6);
Very very fast - especially chipped
Near perfect handling and steering feel
Looks - you wont believe how many people stop and stare
Cheapish to run
Vauxhall badge - some worry about it, I dont give a sh*t
Very cold inside...
Glad youre enjoying it mate!!
But do watch the oversteer on these - if you go into a corner too fast, bottle it and back off - the little sh*t bites :devilish:
Cant go wrong with;
- meguiars if youre on a budget
- zymol/swissol if youre not
Ditch your sponge, buy a lambswool wash mit from Meguiars
And use 2 buckets, one with shampoo, another to rinse the wash mit
Im "MOB" on that forum :cool:
I posted this comment - "I thought it would be a bit "chav" but they are a good bunch and theres loads of info on there."
I suspect most people that havent visited this forum would assume that there would be a lot of "yeah innit m8" type people on here
But as...
Mine were done by a guy in Leicester £150 - all windows except the front
Top notch job and he did the rear in one sheet
Let me know if you want his details
Pics here...
Nah you want one of these (not);

If you want a cheap easy top notch shine, try Zymol cleaner wax from Halfords - about £12 a bottle
Gets rid of minor swirls as well
Anything from Meguiars is very good as well
If you can pay more (a lot more!), Swissol or Zymol waxes are awesome........
Just lately my 182 has developed a strange judder
If you go round a corner fairly gently, and the road isnt 100% smooth, the wheels seem to wobble about - quite violently sometimes
Cant remember it doing it when I first got it - I know the 182 is uncompromising, but I dont think its right...
Hehehe the setting fire to the paintwork trick eh? I remember that one
Try Meguiars/Zymol/Swissol etc - much better results than the Mer/Autoglym type products IMO
Also invest in a lambswool mit as mentioned above - sponges are like sandpaper on the paint
And use 2 buckets of water - one...
