unplug it yeah cos then the wires dont get in your way but the actual boot handle after you have unscrewed these you will able pop off, it aint difficult to get off, becomes clear as you do it.
+1 to davedreads
It will be more difficult to spray it which is easy. Would be 1 spanner in the...
I think the picture has uploaded with this if not i will upload it via photobucket, but take the plastic trim from in your boot off, held on by clips and 1 torx screw on the right side iirc, then you will see these the are the three nuts take them off then you should be about to take it off then...
When my driveshaft started to go it only made the knocking noise when cornering and was like that till I got it replaced so don't think it will be that
I have just read this from start to finish, last night and just. This is an amazing project, was a big fan of your clio project but this is by far a greater project.
Epic project, car looks great, hope you can give it a proper run the next time you get on the track
I think it is usually 15 years old or older, although some classic insurance companies debate what is a classic.
They do state that it has to be a second car to qualify for the cheap insurance and usually impose a limited mileage restriction,up to 5000 miles although i could be wrong on that.
looks very nice mate, going get this done after winter now really gives the front end a lift. The wing mirror bases are a great touch did it on my old one makes it look a lot neater
Re: Just brought phase1 sport... what issues will I have.
There should be a grommet that you can take off to get the cable through it. Look here on post 100 some pics you may find useful.
Re: Just brought phase1 sport... what issues will I have.
You won't have an issue regarding the thottle cable, when ph2's have ITB's they in to ditch the electronic one too, iirc just use the throttle pedal out of your ph1 and put it in your ph2 mate
Looks great mate, big fan of the standard alloys, just buy a set out eibach sportlines, arch gap is not a noticable and you will still be able do 40mph on a B-road.
I think standard colour they look really nice, but the problem I have with the cup pack alloys, which I have on mine, is when you need to get them refurbed, like I do, there ain't any colour close to standard or the standard colour at refurbers where I have looked.
Go on autotrader to get a rough idea and have a look i would say about 2500-2750 for a ph2 and around 2000 for a ph1 personally.
You could contact steve at R-sport cars may help you to just a thought. Have a look at the buyers guide to help you to see what things you are looking for too.
Hope...
Theres a few silver 172's on autotrader same sort of milage, no damage, would need to find out about belts. But they are going for about 500-600 quid more. Personally wouldn't touch that one on pistonheads.
