Dixon York charge me £8 every time. Theyve told me I can put it on my insurance then why I try they deny all knowledge of saying you can do it.
Last time I had a courtesy car from them 2 weeks ago, some little git in leeds smashed the rear window and nicked the spare wheel out of the boot...
cheers for the info. I need to get a garage to do it as I have no idea what Im doing ( you should see my DIY efforts :) ). Dont mind paying £50 for the fronts and £50 for the rears, beats the £130 for each set that renault were going to charge me. The bloke at the tyre/dealer place didnt have a...
Yeah, dixon york are by far the worst car dealership Ive ever dealt with. It takes them ages to fix things, they lie to you, dont take care of your car, break thinks and dont tell you about it etc etc.
Just phoned a tyre and brake dealer in York for a price for new brake pads.
They quoted me £50 for the front ones, but didnt have a price for the rear ones and said they reckoned they were dealer only. Does this sound right? Have anyone replaced the rear pads from somewhere other than a...
dogmaul, if that is dixons in York they are a bunch of t**ts. My car has been in twice in the last month to have 2 problems fixed, last time it when in it came out with 4 problems needing to be fixed! Nice. Spoke to the manager, got a couple of lame excuses and no apology and was told they...
Hi
Looks like Im going to need at least 2 possibly 4 new tyres on my 172 as the front ones are worn down and both back ones have slow punctures which may/may not be repairable. Also think the front pads and possibly the back ones are worn down so will need replacing soon.
Have been quoted...
nope. Have used ones in leeds and york and they are similar prices. Dont know what the one in harrogate is like though. Dixons in York are utter s**t. I would avoid them if at all possible. My 172 was in for two issues last week and they fixed none of them yet told me they had fixed both and...
I read this post yesterday afternoon, went outside to drive home and did exactly the same thing. Doh. Now the passenger side wiper makes a strange clanking noise when it gets halfway across the screen, hope its only the blades that are f**ked, and not the actual arm itself.
According to renault uk, the difference in price is due to labour costs. Mr brother paid about £130 and I paid £190. Hmm £60 difference due to labour costs. The renault mechanics in Leeds must be getting an absolute fortune. Either that or they are more incompetent than other garages and take...
Yeah, mine are pants, I hate the bloody things! Im sure someone on here posted that there was something you could do to turn off the rain sensitive part and just have them operate as normal wipers. Ment to ask at the renault garage when I picked the 172 up afters its 12000 mile service ( £189...
Can any of you guys who got it serviced in Leeds tell me which dealer it was?
The one just north of the a64 in the city centre just quoted me £180 - £195 depending on the chassis number.

they seem to have quite a few in stock at the moment
My brother bought a 172 from trade-sales and the car came from cyprus so trade sales told him it only had a 1 year warranty and flogged him a extended warranty themselves. Recently his car went in for some work in the first year, and renault told him it was automatically covered by a three year...
if the price is wrong on the website, e.g £5 instead of £500, the company dont have to honor the price. Amazon had pocket pcs for about £50 or something instead of £450, and loads of people ordered, but amazon didnt by law have to send them the devices. But then, they hadnt charged peoples...
Ive just phoned renault customer services as my 172 is 1 yr old and has done 7000 miles. They confirmed that it is 12000 miles or 24months and said if the dealers have a problem they should phone customer services who will confirm what I was told. They wouldnt however give me a letter confirming...
i bought mine from

slightly more expensive than motorpoint and trade sales, but the customer service they provide is great, very friendly and far better than the s**t offered by renault or the other car supermarkets.
Not a lot, it was just that my clio was in recently to have a rattle fixed. It went in twice and had about 30 miles put on it, (one time leaving the fuel warning light on, but it was very low on petrol when I took it in ), and no one said anything to me about driving it. Just wondered whether...
if when someone brings in a car to have a problem diagnosed/fixed which requires the car to be driven, the garage should ask you permission before they drive it or at least tell you that they need to drive it?
Cheers
Paul
dogmaul, some cars from trade sales are eu sourced, some arnt. Even if they arnt they will still have a one year warranty ( not as good as a 3 year one admittedly, but better than nothing! )
Mine has done 5500 miles and I noticed at the weekend that the clutch seemed to slipping, especially in the same circumstances ie 3rd gear and hard accelerating. If it continues to do it, its going back to the garage.
whats the point? Most of the expense is tax by the government so you wont find the petrol companies knocking 10p a litre off their prices, as they dont make that much profit on it.
dont know anyone who lives in york, but I think chavyboy visits the area from time to time.. Quite a few people seem to come to york from time to time to go to the drag strip
