Clean and mark up dampers
Roll cage padding
Driveshaft gaiter
Corner weight and geo
Alignment and camber equipment

Check master cylinder plus get spare
Clean all plus oil leak

Can you get the end plate off in situ thread or will he need to either drop the frame or lift the engine?
From what I recall there doesnt look like enough space to do it with the box in its normal position.

  Lionel Richie
yeah it comes off with the subframe in place, you have to remove that big lower rubber and bracket which is a fiddle, but no biggie

You going to get the gears done before mallory?
Yes need to :) current 5th gear is pathetic lol

Yes can do as Fred says and remove lower GB mount drop a few inches and then get the end cap off. I'm going to Fred's on Thursday to do it and also for the final corner weighting and setup :)
Nice one James, you could build another Clio with all those spares ;) I have a small selection building up now too, better to be safe than sorry I guess.
Haha yes I thought the same myself but still a fair few things I don't have 2 of but there is only so much I can take :(
My spares kit is, a big hammer and some duct tape.
Ahh perfect I won't bother packing my big hammer then!

I'll have my string lines with me, so if you need to do the tracking just give me a shout.
Thanks Mike :) I have some but not sure i'm going to be able to fit them in lol! You testing Friday or coming down Saturday?
What's the story with the 5th gear James? Is that you going back to standard or vice versa?
When I swapped final drive I calculated top speed at 145 with the stock JC5 130 5th or 130ish with the lower and wasn't sure if that would be enough. I left the standard 5th in but driving it at Mallory the other week i'm using 5th a fair bit and it has a big rev drop so gets out of the power band :( Decided to swap to the shorter ratio

Ahrite, when it can be done in situ then why not. JC 130 is 182 box right? What FD did you go for? Trying to compare yours to mine

Yes 130 is 182 and 129 is 172 cup. The only difference being the 129 has speedo sensor. It's 4.60 or 4.64 from memory pulls out of the corners very nicely but wasn't getting good top speeds so will be interesting in car to car combat I think lol

Nice one, look forward to first race videos and write up. Afaik or I'm led to believe my diff is 30/65 ramp and and 14/60 FD which I presume is 4.28 meaning a good bit lower/closer than yours. How extreme did you go with the ramp angles and how do you find it? Also did you go with recomended Morris XFS 80-140. Sorry for all the questions?

Sorry not too sure mate what my ramp rates are off the top of my head. Yes standard FD is 4.06 so yours 4.28 is alot closer to standard FD than mine at 4.60. Gripper do upto 5.25 from memory but that's certainly aimed at the gravel rally boys I think! I said to gripper to set it up as they would recommend for what I do and found it really good at the shakedown round Mallory but will know more when i've driven it at a track I know and have driven before in the car. Nope I have never been recommended that and gripper have always told me Castrol B373 so that's what I run it on :) Who told you Morris oil? I will have another ask around to make sure though :)

Mines is the wrong way then, set up pretty mild by ktec. Davemacprops.com gripper uk agent recommended that oil for a gripper diff wether its suitable for a jc5 I'm not sure.

Copied over from Facebook for those who don't have Facebook :)

COMPETITION TIME: Very kindly had a pair of tickets donated for the BTCC at Snetterton. We are going to be away racing at Mallory so can't make it! Thought we would do a little competition and give the tickets away :) So the 2 tickets are entry to Snetterton on the 3rd and 4th of August. THE BIG QUESTION: Guess the total hours that the FF-Racing Clio has run for since first turning a wheel back in January 2012, to make it easier I have included the list just with the hours blanked off! Answers to 1 decimal place and closest answer wins :) Closing at lunchtime on Monday so they can be posted out in time.

Does anyone know if you have to run headlights on a trackday? Packing for Mallory and would rather not take them but don't want to be not let on the trackday :(

Only when light is poor (winter late afternoon) and poor visibility I recall James as I looked into it when I was building my car

Right so just got in from packing everything ready for Mallory. Spending the day at BTM tomorrow to change 5th gear, corner weight and do the geo plus another couple of little odds and ends if Fred is feeling bored ;)

Then Friday is the trackday at Mallory where I've got a list of jobs to run through with the car.

Saturday is race day for the French Trophy. Live timing and the results will be on the TSL timing website and also the Facebook and twitter pages will be getting updated regularly :)

Fingers crossed all goes well and I'm really looking forward to it! Once again anyone is welcome to pop in on Friday night for the BBQ I haven't sorted food yet but do have beer ;) All about the priorities......

Thanks for reading!
James

Looking forward to this hope the weather it good?

Depends what beer is on the menu? (Don't forget bottle opener)

  All sorts
Good luck James, hope you enjoy it and all of your hard work pays off ;-)

Think you should take orders for your wiring as quite a few people were impressed with it last weekend.
