You should get all the bolts you need with the spacers so no need to cut them ones down, or have I missed something?

The wheel bolts just need trimming down a little bit mate as they bottom out when doing the wheels up.

Yes you get the bolts for the spacers to hub which are fine.

  Audi A5
Oh I'm with you now, do they still bottom out with 20mm spacers then? I thought it was 15mm's and under.

Just mate.

I turned mine down about 2mm on the lathe at work. Felt spot on afterwards.

  Many.
Just remembered, I need some standard wheel bolts, my long bolts were too long now I don't have rear spacers.

ICV - Airbox pipe and coolant bottle lid by Dr-Jekyll, on Flickr

I can now fit my original airbox and remove the Ktec induction kit. I can also put an original lid on my new coolant bottle :)

More good news is that the underlay has stopped a huge amount of vibrations in the doors.

I do however have an annoying noise in which I hope can be identified. Its hard to explain but when in 1st or 2nd gear, mostly in stop/start traffic, it feels like the engine is loose and I have a squeak as well as a knocking noise. I noticed it a few weeks back as I seem to get a vibrating noise when the revs drop in idle.

On and off the throttle at slow speed is when its noticeable and when I'm reversing it feels like the engine is vibrating. The engine, gearbox and poly dogbone mount are all done up to the correct tightness but the movement and squeak noise when doing so concerns me. Any ideas are welcome.

Was busy playing GTA hence not replying to you buddy!

The noises it makes are extreamly weird. I'd expect some noise however due to the dogbone, but wasn't the squeak there before?

I also now wonder if the manifold is catching the subframe just slighty... Can move the drivers side engine mount forwards to test that though. Had forgotten about that.

Id say it could be the joint between the exhaust manifold and the cat, its held with bolts but is only tension with springs.

No worries buddy. Yeah the noise was doing it slightly before but not as bad, the same with the movement. It's gotten worse over the last few weeks, but luckily I've been using Emily's car. I drove it today into Harlow and it was doing it then :(

I shall have a look mate when I jack the car up next. Unfortunately the weather is sh*t :( Is it common for them to go then and to make engine movement? It also knocks when on/off the throttle too :S

That ill be because you have s**t standard engine mounts...:rasp:

Lol. I will have a look at the manifold first mate. Looked last night and there £100+ for both of the vibratech mounts :(

I have decided to remove the whiteline ARB too. I don't drive it hard enough to warrant it on the car and would be better for the more hardcore person! So that and the Ktec induction kit will be up for sale. Feel free to PM me on either if anybody is interested ;)

Got a few more bits done over the last couple of days.

I removed my ktec induction kit and fitted the standard airbox back in. While the ktec kit was off I decided to remove the throttle body to give it a clean. Although it wasn't to bad, it was just piece of mind to do so. After that I popped the original airbox in and went to fit the induction bend but it was a pain to fit and I ended up snapping the IVC pipe off the elbow! Luckily my friend @Toms_clio had one he gave me so I got that off him and fitted it, this time without breaking anything! Thanks Tom :)

Then onto the oil change. I normally use Elf Evolution but before Xmas I saw a thread on here that linked Halfords oil from £36 to £9 if you click and collect, so I did that! 5/40 fully synthetic for under a tenner, can't argue with that! But whoever did the change last did both the filter and the sump plug on bloody tight. Because of this I had to remove the engine cover and fuel rail gaurd to get to the old filter. I used the old screwdriver trick after letting all the old oil drain out. At first it wasn't budging but it gave way in the end.

Thanks Tom :) Emily thinks its sad that I take pics of everything but its good to record it all, for my benifit and for future buyers.

I was an itch that needed scratching tbh Kyle. I loved the BG but keeping a black car clean was a nightmare :( I do love the Ph1 though, plus there was only 90 something of them done in iceberg on the Ph1's so its nice to have a fairly rare colour. Just gotta see what power it makes now ;)

@MrTom I had been wanting a ph1 for some time now. I had kinda fell out of love with the BG tbh and as we're saving for a mortgage I wanted to get a ph1 before the saving really starts getting serious. I used the sale of my BG to buy this :)

@AlexW You've probably got a small share in it now! ;)

@Kyle 86 Knowsit!

@Bobby. Tbh it was in decent condition so I just gave it a little clean up. I know they are prone to rust if not cared for so probably a spray job would be better than how its comes new! I have a buyer lined up for it but if it falls through then I shall put a for sale ad on here. Don't think it'll be hard to sell.

nice updates mark. the whiteline was new and probably only covered circa 2000 miles if that. i will be interested to see what power it makes too. felt a strong one to me.

Coming along nicely Mark :)

I need to have a listen to your stealth exhaust at the RR day ;)

By all means Graham. You'll hear it through the revs whist its in the rollers and your more than welcome to have a drive of it to see what its like inside the car. Its the full system with center silencer and twin barrel car still in.

Same Jamie, it feels nice through the rev range. Also that's good to know about the whiteline. As said previously, I don't drive it hard enough to warrant keeping it. While its in good condition it's still worth something so I shall sell it and put the money towards something else, perhaps getting a panel sprayed. In fact I would only keep the whiteline on as it looks cool

nice progress chap :)

Thanks Ben :) Got some good and bad news this morning regarding my parcel but I shall upload pics in a mo to show :(

yeah will be good to see how it compares to other clios on the rollers, and see if those matched inlets have helped it breathe a bit better.

The Dan@MAD parcel turned up today. Opened it up to be greeting with bad news:

Bent footrest by Dr-Jekyll, on Flickr

As you can see there not in the best condition! I was not happy and neither was my girlfriend who had ordered them for my birthday. Not only had she ordered them to turn up a week before, but when they hadn't turned up a few days past the delivery date, she phoned them up to be told they hadn't even been sent out yet, even though they was marked as dispatched and she had been charged!

Had a look at the spacers and noticed that the rears never came with the fitting kit and the fronts that was sent was 25mm and not the ordered 20mm! So not so good so far! I know people are saying that the 25mm's will be fine but thats not what i ordered. Apparently the 25mm's was put in the 20mm's section by accident and they had no more 20mm's in stock.

So after another phone call, it all got resolved. Basically they've been having a lot of trouble on there eBay site and with there new staff. He was very apologetic and did offer a new battery cover and footrest at 1/2 price but i wasn't interested. He has refunded us the full amount back and said to her that i could keep all that i received as an apology and that i could sell the spacers if i didn't want them to make a bit more money back.

I will try my best to straighten out the footrest and battery cover but my GF was unsure whether he will send the fitting kit for the rear spacers. However i now have a set of 25mm spacers which i will get fitted. If i feel like i don't like them then i will put them up here for sale. Its a bit crap but at least it was resolved with a bit extra my way. Tbf my missus said she was quite vocal with him and that he was quite apologetic and that he gave her no trouble with the refund.

That is proper s**t mate, only good thing is that you got the 25mm spacers for free.

Tbh Mark you dont need the new bolts that they supply as the ones on the car are plenty long enough.

If you no likey, I'll be tempted to slap you :rasp:

5mm!!!!!!!!! I'm not even that convinced there'd be a visual difference at anything less than 3 meters. :D

I imagine they could be bent back easy enough in a vice?

Oh dear, that's not good but at least theirs a silver lining.

I reckon your be happy with the 25mm spacers once you got them all on.

I'll be honest Scott i was gutted. Been looking forward to them for a while as well :( But yeah, at least i can try the 25mm and either keep them for free or make some money back. When Emily phoned them back up he said that for the 5mm rears i could use the standard bolts but for the 10mm ones i'd need longer bolts? Be good if i could use my standard ones as then i can space out the rears for free.
