fair price for a 02 172

i have the chance t o buy a 02 172 in red, 77,000 miles in excellent condition b ut no history. has all the toys, xenons, rain sens wipers,headlight sensors etc.
he is looking at 3000 ish, i have been looking at 172 prices and they seem a bit up and down so assuming its mechanically fine, b elts done e tc and b ody work is A1 then what do you out there think its worth?

If there's no service history, you need to get the belts done. Assuming is risky.

Based on that, it's a grand too much.

Its not worth 3k thats for sure, id be staying well clear with no service history been present

3k is still slightly high i think considering the mileage, but at the end of the day it's worth what someone will pay!
Like you said car prices are all over the place so find one you like & know will be good & go for it.
I'd perhaps steer clear unless you plan to do belts/major service as i'm sure there are other clean examples out there, and maybe for less money!

ok, been looking at another one, pretty much same spec, 02 plate, similar miles, engine out as belt gone( no idea why he had engine taken out for that) . he wants 1500 quid.
better plan? i like a challenge, might even be a profit in it.lol

Thats gonna cost about 1k to fix if engine has gone, theres 2.5k gone and thats without anything else what maybe wrong with it, defintely no profit in it

There's your 2.5k straight away. You can pick up a decent one that's had belts done for the same money if not less

No chance it's worth 3k! I paid 3.4k for a 52 plate on 52k miles with history 2yrs ago and sold it for 3.2k on about 57k

It's worth about 2-2.5...
