iPhone 4 - emails from 1970!!

The misses set up her gmail account on the 4 and a couple of emails have appeared dated from 1970! Any ideas what they are, can't delete them either!

There is no subject or content, just blank message and they do not appear when logging in to the account from the PC.

Search Google, it's a known problem and has been around since 3.0
