well this is the point my mate with the burg is making , so they are of to another rr next week as there car was apparently underpowered . so what are you guys saying ? that my reading could be over or under or anything ?

  Focus RS mk1
the rollers could be giving you false reading sometimes opperator error can hav an effect, try another and see what the at the wheel figure is there

  Golf TDI
yes i might get it on another places rollers when my mate takes the nurburgring to it . just i dont want to throw too much money at just finding out how much power etc it has . all i know is it already goes like :quiet: lol

15bhp from a remap is never going to happen kie....

he's pulling your pisser mate

i said this to him lol i said iv never heard of gains like that just from a remap , i mentioned the fact that its obviously a n/a engine and he said it can be done  although a mate of mine took his 1.6 astra to regal and got an extra 16 bhp from there map

  Golf TDI
yeh the calculation from wheel to fly is wrong, mine made 145bhp at the wheels which was worked out to 172bhp at the fly which is around 20% loss (give or take couple of percent) through transmission. when i had mine cammed it then made 154bhp at the wheels. fly figures shouldnt even be looked at as it depends how they work it out. the wheel figure is most important as thats whats really happening

Definatly worth checking the timing if the belt has been done.

what do you mean about the belt and timing ? can you expand on it for me .

maybe the cam timing is slightly out if the belt has been done by someone not very experienced (no offence if this is you) but not timed up bang on. could cause a loss of bhp but if your saying it goes like shat off a shovel then i wouldnt worry too much.

sorry for my stupidity but are we talking when the cambelt was done ? and as for s**t off a shovel i uprgraded from a 1.2 to this , so a lawnmower would seem to go like ..:quiet: ha ha but in all seriousness it seems all in order

  Focus RS mk1
lol no its not stupidity if you dnt know you dnt know do ya. yeh when it was done. i see what you mean when you say coming from a 1.2 i did the same.

Exactly what I posted before mate! You know it's rapid, so just spend your money on V-Power and enjoy it!!

:race:

  Golf TDI
so if the belt hasnt been timed properly it will just need re timing . all he said was something to do with my cam adjuster as the valves timing might not be right as he said it was fairly loud at the top of the engine .

  Focus RS mk1
not sure if they will have to use a new belt or not and if it does need re-timing it could end up costing for the strippage. just get it checked 1st to put your mind at ease it mite be ok. do you have the history for the belt like when it was done and where?

  Golf TDI
i dont no !! lol it really needs doing just for piece of mind . but im assuming its on its second belt having done 92 k miles .

  Focus RS mk1
oh so you dont have history of the belt ever being changed? i would get this done if that is the case, if it hasnt had a belt its most definatly due one

love your thinking :approve: you fitted your matched inlets yet ? i was looking at getting them you :rasp:

No, only arrived yesterday! Sorry dude...

Will be on in next couple of weeks, together with the RS-Tuner that's been sat here for a while!

The car is fully-stripped and running a 'Gray' de-cat, Powerflow stainless cat-back & ITG filter (standard airbox) - and, now the air-con and PAS is gone, I hope it'll feel even perkier!! :)

Not the best video, but its a rolling road, you get the idea

I was gonna strip mine, but i am only prepared to lose the back seats, spare wheel, and cant think of anything else without making it uncomfy..

  Golf TDI
^^^ every little helps , but obviously the more you are prepared to lose , the more you will gain . cheers for the video nathan :)

Not convinced by that though lad, the wheel figures are both the same, and trans. losses dont change.

Have you heard of AP performance? its a guy based in ystradgynlais who is a specialist in Renault tuning. heard very good things about him. he's also got his own website, take a look if i was you, he has his own RR and will tell you exsactly what he thinks. He also matches your inlets if you want. IIRC i heard off a mate that he did a 270bhp 197 turbo, he did it before others. So must be good.

  Golf TDI
i will look into it . is it far from the place i went as a few days later after i went with the astra the mate with the astra took it to another rr that was only a few miles from there ....could be this place ? he said it was brilliant .

Update bumber 9

This last week i have taken a slightly different outlook on my car , although im still 100% on this becoming a stripped out track toy for taking around the nurburgring , i do use this as my daily drive and if i want to go out and socialise with mates etc . So after looking at my car and then looking at barron and bazzons racing blue i thought i will try and brighten up the outside of the car and make it look good aswell as going good .....this is only a very very small update on whats to come but last night and this morning a set about painting my first set of bullets  i have never done them before so do excuse the finish , however i am extremely happ with them and they work ......;) heres a few quick snaps .

when i first started i was getting the paint bloody everywhere all over the bullets as you can see in this picture however i then tried even small brushes which seemed to work better ...

what are you thinking , it could be less at the fly or the whole reading just looks dodgy ?

Look at the wheel firgure for both readings, they are exactly the same, yet he has calculated you a higher flywheel figure on the second run by making a higher transmission loss, which is rediculous. I'd class them as utter horse crap TBH, lol....

Bullets look good mate :)
