Right, updatings from today!
I have been wanting to fit my rear spacers and camber shims for a while now, and having left work at 12:30, this allowed me ample time to do so!
These were the home-made spacers and the camber shims from Ktec racing. These will be adjusting the car 14mm in total track and 0.5 of a degree.
And here is how the car sat before either of these modifications were fitted:
On a side note, I have been collecting these goodies this week:
A litre of Tardis, sn underseal spray gun, and a can of underseal. You will see where these come into play a little later
.
So, with some pictures out of the way, I got cracking with working on the car.
Jacked and ready to go!
Unfortunately, I have no pictures of the work being done, I only have afters.
So the following pictures are after the spacer and shim were fitted. I also tidied the area up substancially, removing any rust and Hammeriting it in satin black.
The spacer and camber shim painted up:
Apologies for the poor pictures
The next task for this side, was to tidy the arches up. Yep, this is where the numerous new items come into play.
I set about Tardising the arches to remove the copious amount of tar that had accumulated within them.
You can see where I have started the process.
Unfortunately, I have no other pictures of this being done
The spray gun ready to go!
Having never done this before, I was very skeptical as to how it would materialise.
Not a bad effort if I say so myself!
Got a very good converage, sprayed everything I could within the arch, and it came out very well!
Time to move on to the drivers side!
Before any work commenced:
Unfortunately, I also have few pictures of any work being done on this side as well, just fitted spacer and shim:
I also got cracking with de-tarring and re-coating the drivers side arch.
Again, a distinct lack of pictures for this. I didn't fancy getting the phone covered in s**te!
And the finished article!
Please ignore the ride heights, these were literally taken as the car was coming off of the jack.
Happy with the results! Could probably have used the 10mm spacers for a bit more poke, but the 7mm ones still look good.
Not something I fancy doing again though, so these will probably stay.
Went out for a quick drive and absolutely no rubbing or anything
Result!
The 10mm spacers will be up for sale soon as I will not be requiring them!
Next on the list is still a full geo setup, oil and filter change and full brake bleed!
Oh, and obviously a huge tidy up of the front arches!
