Odyssey ph1 172 pure track car. No tax discs here........

  ph1 172
Good progress mate! Probably Becuase me and Dan wasent there! Haha.

Keep up the good work;)

Ha it meant I didn't have anyone to talk to atleast!

I think the dashboard and windscreen is going to be a pain to remove. Want the windscreen to go back in aswell so got to be very careful

  LY Megane R26
Haha! So why's the window screen got to come out? To get the cage in?

As for electrics, just get 3.3omh resistors and short everything out;)

  ph1 172
I won't need resistors to short everything out.........I can do all that on my own;)

The cage has the gusset plates at the front pillars that has to be welded to the shell so the windscreen has to go.

I shall have to look for the guide then, and it's not my fault that progress has been slow...........

  DON'T SEND ME PM'S!!
Stripping an Odyssey ph1 is a hanging offence round this way :(

I would have cosseted that car

Update

Once again, items keep coming up at the right price! Tonight I picked up a pair of brand new Corbeau Evolution seats. I am a 32" waist and I can only just squeeze into them. Exactly how I wanted it but my passengers will beg to differ!

I also picked up a set of brand new AST sportline II coilovers on Saturday. Thank you Mark!

The dashboard and steering wheel is out now, so is the front bumper and headlights etc. Hopefully Wednesday I will crack on and remove the windscreen, passenger side rear glass and the boot lid. Then moving on through the week I need to be getting the water drained out of the engine to remove the heater and then get the engine and gearbox out along with the whole wiring loom so then, fingers crossed, sometime late next week I can send the shell off to have the cage put in (this should be here this week) then on the car returning, get the interior sprayed! Long way off this yet though:(

Lush seats! Where did you find them? As you know i've been looking for new seats for ages lol.

I found them on ebay just outside Stowmarket. The cheapest I could find them on the net was £498 each. I paid £325 each and they still had the polythene on!

I will PM you a couple of links Lewis as I am watching a fair few seats on ebay atm and I hope they are within your price range....

  LY Megane R26
They look awesome! 32" looks like I won't be a passenger;)

Keep it up dude and if you ever need a hand give mme a shout:)

  ph1 172
Thanks chaps:D

You will squeeze in one Scott!

I think you would get fed up with these seats in an everyday car Dan! By the time I have my cage in there you will need to be a contortionist to get in and out of it!

Well got abit more done tonight thanks to Scott for lending a hand:D
Everything does seem to take longer than expected though!

So changes since last time are something along the lines of, dashboard, heater, wiper motor, washer bottle, battery, radiator, condenser, inlets, front bumper, alternator, air con pump and most, if not all the pipes and lines, and various other insignificant bits that I no longer require.

Genuine Orbisoud cup racer exhaust should arrive tomorrow ready for me to do some fabrication work. :)

Why didn't you picture the circular saw?

Also you need a bigger passenger seat! ;)

lol

I will have the seat bars and brackets put in so that I can bolt your seat in there too so will need to take some measurements from your seats sometime.

What on earth did you use the bahco wood saw for!? Your worse than me haha!

Worked well for removing those "tough to get at bolts".......are they not recommended then?..

Subscribed.

Looks to be a great project :D

Thanks mate:)

Hopefully exciting stuff will happen possibly end of next week early week after as I have literally just come off the phone to custom cages and my cage should be with me Tuesday after adding a couple of extras with it, naturally:eek:

Update

Thanks to Scott and Zack, I now have a very heavy back of tar:)

A tad over 9kgs :D

Also removed the loom inside the car so I could finish stripping the carpet and foam.

That was another 10kgs exactly

A heck of a lot of wiring mess to cut down and sort out:S
Anyone that is prepared to work for cups of tea and cheese toasties to cut down a loom?;)

A few more pics of the patches where tar used to be

Also removed the tar on the rear upper quarters. Quite time consuming and fiddly = plenty of blood

Got some cheese wire coming next week so I can remove the windscreen and N/S rear window.
Also, Tuesday should see my cage arrive. Hopefully by the end of the week I will have the engine out and various brackets inside removed ready for the cage to be fitted possibly the start of the week after. We shall see.

Been busy mate, bet the garage is full of car parts everywhere now? lol

My dad has been going mad at me! lol It's a sh*t hole. Going to evict the interior tomorrow and get some space back as I also need to work on the front doors cutting those down and the boot lid.

  ph1 172
lol windscreen has got to go back in!

Rear 2 weigh 5.8kgs together, hoping poly's will weigh around 2kgs

All going well I shall have an engine hoist (borrowed) so will whip the engine out

  ph1 172
How easy were the rear quarter windows to remove?

They look just bonded in?

Peace of cake with the right gear. Braided cheese wire from ebay, 22 metres for under £6 delivered, make a little hole/poke the wire through, a pair of molegrips on each end and wiggle/pull till it cuts all the way around. Clean off the excess with a stanley.

Poor car!

Top work Rhys :)

Good holiday mate?

Also, did you decide whether you can be a passenger for the track day I am doing in Wales 7th June?

  Clio 172
Blimey not sure how I missed this thread, looks like some speedy work there Rhys. I'll definatly be following this thread, keep up the good work and its nice to know how much everything weighs, bargain with the seats as well.

Thanks very much.
Roll cage should have arrived today but no sign of it yet, again.

Got to get some paint mixed up next week too!
