Haha sod doing it myself.. I've done cams before on other engines but I don't fancy tackling the VVT and dephaser with all the timing that goes with!

Think I will be taking it to Tour-de-Force for fitting and mapping

Next stage after this is itbs I suppose!

had the dreaded letter - Road tax! gearbox recon and catcam fitting postponed for at least this month now !

I will take loads of photos of the fitting and recon process when its done.. hopefully will help others on here too

New tyre fitted.. Old one still had a s**t load of tread but the addition of a big nail had kinda ruined it's day!

yeah this had damaged the wall... not repairable

tyres have gone up in price recently..

paid £60 a tyre for the last lot mobile fitted too!

you're right! well spotted! think il get on fleabay and order some

its dirty now after the trip thats for sure.. the amount of dead flys on the front is unreal !!

not many of the inside tbh its rather standard for now !

my drivers side fog light seems to have turned itself into a fishbowl :dapprove:


so going to take that out today, dry it out, seal it up and fit some new LED bulbs in there

438 fitting fund is near enough there.. will be getting booked into TDF in the next couple of weeks

Spent a while messing with the clio yesterday took my fog lights apart and resealed them which seems to have worked and fitted some new brighter LED bulbs.. No more fish bowl!

Waxoyled the whole underside of the car.. And sprayed the crash bars etc up Matt black too.. Keeps it all looking smart and a bit more rust protection

Grrr!! my brand new pipercross filter fell into a tub of old oil Ffs!

This is home at the moment whilst the car is at TDF getting the cams in and mapping tomorrow!

Plastered is an understatement ! 4 good mates and a lock in after making friends with the bar staff

Just lost a game of pool so tequila slammers on us ...Not good!

arrived at TDF in the morning had a cuppa with the guys and they dropped us back up to the travel lodge

leaving all the bits etc with them..

spent most of the day in the pub down in a local town in a beer garden as you can see from the pictures attached above!!!!!

next day all done 438 cams fitted mapped with new dephaser and belts etc Matt gave me a ring to come watch the last couple of power runs on the dyno..

Ran 195.2 on the rollers.. matt was really impressed with it.. said it was one of the strongest 182's they've had on their rollers with the same sort of modifications so im dead happy with it..

drives really nicely a definite improvement!

only problem now is I managed to blow the gearbox just as I pulled onto my drive after a 2 hour journey back from TDF!! lucky really!

taking it apart tomorrow so there will be plenty of pics up... going to get the box out and either recon it or il have to buy a second hand one and recon that instead if mine is too bad!

so i have now gone and stripped it all down and fitted a new clutch ready for a new gearbox to be sorted out!

hubs disconnected, shafts out, all the airbox ecu off, disconnected steering rack, dropped subframe, starter motor off, about to drop the box...

..and then this man turns up with donuts and biscuits!!!
