Those with a ~2013 2.0 TDI 170PS engine, how much oil does yours take?
Book says 5L, car took 5L, said it was full; 6 days later oil level says low. No obvious signs of leak, no burning evident.
Didn’t really use the car until today. I did run it after the change though, but didn’t recheck level.Did you run it when first changed then check level again same day ?
Honestly, there is a special place hell for the idiot who invented the digital dipstick.It took another 1/2 litre, and that put the level back up to full. Will see what it does over the weekend.
Give me a real dipstick back!
Anyone have any experience on Polo gti's? 2018 year, upon looking it's the EA888 gen 3 engine. Mileage wise it's done 37k, it has a engine noise where when you rev it on standstill and the revs fall away, it sounds like a chain noise from the top end.
Dealer says they can't hear anything like the video I've sent them as they asked initially for a video, they now have the car.

I think the earlier versions are from what I've read.Aren't these known for the chain tensioner failing? Or is it the balance shafts?

MOT failed on the Passat B8 - front (DCC) shock absorber leaking fluid after hitting a pothole (Council claim submitted).
I asked on here about OEM quality aftermarket brands - the consensus was Monroe. Ordered from Autodoc at £115 a side, which felt cheap but bonza. The indi I use has a good rep and told me they'd supply Monroe too, but quoted £300 a side. VW wanted £478 a side. So I ordered them myself.
Fast forward three weeks and driven 500 miles - I have a significant increase in road noise and a "loose" feeling through the wheel and brake pedal. Enough to warrant going back. Now checked by two different independents, both state they're fitted correctly and tight. One suggests lower ball joints need doing. The other suggested wishbone bushes are split but not a concern.
Upon last chat, the (Polish if it matters) bloke on the front desk mentioned he's seen two levels of quality from Monroe - Eastern Europe and Western Europe. Given Autodoc were so cheap, he thinks I have substandard shocks.
Is there really any truth in this, as it'll mean having to send the parts back to Autodoc and replacing with Euros supplied parts.
