I was about to ask the same question!
Think he explained his motivation before. No maintenance and not as aggressive considering they are running near stock engine. For now [emoji6]
I'm 100% sure this is the most asked question on here! ?.. everyone will have their own opinionWhat made you go for the Quaife over a gripper diff?
Tom
Yeah we're looking forward to it.. should help a lot!.You’ll love it! So much grip out of corners it’s unreal.
Same reason I went for Quaife. If the box was easy to pull out like a saxo vts id have gone gripper.
Why haven't you gone for quaifes smaller final drive? You doing the meg 5th gear?
Quafie don’t offer a final drive but I know several companies that sell a final drive to fit the quafie. Found a few after a long time of googling parts in France and Italy before I bought my diff.Quaife don’t offer any different final drives as far as I’m aware.. Gripper offer the 3 different versions though.. I’m happy with the gearing we have to be honest, from all the tracks we’ve tested at it works really well.. tbh it’s questionable how much u can actually gain from the small increase in accel compared with the time lost doing an additional shift at the end of a straight. (Their rally spec one is obviously beneficial if your grave rallying)
Are you still looking at uprating the front brakes? Ive only just learnt about them recently but have you thought about residual pressure valves. I always have pad knockback in my brembos and wondered how much the valves would help
Some gearstick wobble in 4th there! ?
Yeah I noticed that from the videos too haha... and subsequently tightened up the linkage at gearbox end.. the bolt through the two roller bearings had come loose.
I know what you mean!.. but nope, just my poor bolt checking prior to the track day haha.... I'd had the box off before croft changing the clutch release bearing so disconnected the gearbox linkage. I'm thinking i nipped it up resetting its position but never fully tightened it. Never again thoughI thought it was some camera vibrations or something giving a rolling shutter effect at first haha
Sooooooooo much fun. Love this car ! Defo get more footage up !
What is realy interesting for me, what is with the pre load of the bearings. JC5 for Clio sport is preloaded. Which Bearings have which preload and how could i Adjust it, with witch measuring device?
Hi Scott,
Out of interest where did you get your floor tiles from?
Any news on the bleed bottle?
Cheers
