No-one has questioned @Ant_Smiggy 's alpacas yet?

Gutted about the sump dude :(
Probably thought it was a mistake haha...

Is the engine off the car!? As sometime soon I should be heading to surrey to pick up a dash

Yep. Sure is mate. Has been dragged over the deck, so won't be in the best of shape, but it's holding oil and yours for nothing.

So the list of broken stuff from blyton was bigger than I expected.

Turns out the aux belt totaly disintegrated, must of been catching on the crank pulley outer edge...

f11c4de7ef965be177156fabb0fe3fd4.jpg

Properly fucked so a new 4pk belt ordered so it can run in the middle rather than the edge.

Snapped an injector, it was quite loose before and I think the impact must pushed it over the edge..

And in addition to the sump, bent the subframe, where it mounts to the chassis on the front, bolt tore cleanly through the hole! Brutal!!

So yeah this morning i set about removing the sump to find this...

Proper s**t, so I did this...

Which thankfully worked as can see above!

Got the new sump cleaned up and a quick spray of silver paint..

Gonna send new subframe off to be shot blasted as its a mess! And then give a coat of hammerite.

In addition to that, started putting the fuel lines inside the car, but didnt get round to doing the return pipe as I didnt order enough pipe!

So list still do do:
- Get subframe shotblasted and painted
- Finish fuel lines off
- Fit a new cv boot
- Replace copper brake lines with braided redo position of bias valve, make brackets to suit.
- Refit subframe/hubs/wishbones etc

Car performed great all day, but quarry really highlighted the need for a gripper diff. So thats what im "saving" for currently.

Sunday/Monday morning saw a spanner check of the car and fitting an oil cooler.

Fitting went well, hoses are a bit long but the end are swaged so cant be changed, so itll be reet.

Problems with the new wheels though... bought tuner nuts which also dont fit due to the size of my threads, so im gonna take the wheels to a machine shop and get the holes widend.

Another thing ive been working on is the fitting of a citroen ax single wiper motor.

So it started off like this, little bit scary and there is enough space to do it with a 4.5" angle grinder... just

cf98d44bf17f15b2b970d6a459f58caa.jpg

Then I started making a loom for it. Trying to start gettinf a bit more ocd with this build, after the 1st gen build theres stuff i want to improve and work on, and take more time doing it rather than rushing it back together.

Was gonna upload a vid, but tapatalk doesnt seem to like that..

Had a bit of spare time to make a mate a plug and play ignition and push start button for his track car.

Nothing crazy, he just wants to get rid of the key so it makes sense.

Nice work mate!

In regards to the keyless loom, how do you overcome the key chip situation? Always assumed you'd need a custom loom and eco etc.

Theres a couple of ways, on a ph1 ecu like i have you can have the imboliser decoded, thus removing it.

On a ph2 you can just tape the key inside the decoder ring and hide it behind dash, then jobs a gooden :)

Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

was wondering what you were talking about!
but yeh its very annoying, I cant really remove studs as I'm running spacers - think I'm just going to get wheels machined

Yeah I was well annoyed lol. You tried taper nuts? Your studs look a lot shorter than mine I couldn't get taper nuts to fit for s**t lol

No dont really wanna go for them, as theyll reduce the contact of the taper and I dont run spigot rings eiter so would escalatw it furthur.

Gonna get wheels machined, I'll let you know a price I get :)

Ooosh progress!

Hating how I did my dash the first time round I decided i would put some effort in to get it how i want it...

So sourced a ph2 flocked dash for a bargain, and got to work.

Bought some alumnium composite for the centre console bit and went from there.

The composite I got was pretty brittle and not really what I expected as id thought it would bend like alloy sheet... but hey ho got there in the end

Pictures from the start on friday, but unfortunately couldnt finish due to working up at silverstone for british GT running one of the g40s in gt5 class.

So turns out removing the decoder ring compeltely messes them up, removed it to cut the casing down, then repalced it tried to start nout, bought a new one and one spare and all was fine.

Cut that one down, and then again wouldnt start, start yeah now using the spare but doible checked removing them from the casing f***s them up. Just so you know...

Anyway back to me lil car, 2 out of 3 gyages arrived so decided to get hole saw out, and step drill to get the holes that little bigger to get them fitted.

e70369b3b9c6a8e02f1db2174f078958.jpg

Started making up the loom for them but ran out of wiring and it started raining so decided to stop.

Tomorrow I have a day off so inbetween getting a hair cut and doing a service on a mates fiat panda lol I will pop into town and get some more wire, also planning on removing the rear beam and sending it down to the local sandblasters before it gets the PMS/hammerite treatment...

I like having stuff to do on the car again!

Cheers bud! Yep I'm happy with it! did i see a selling post for your car?!
Yeah but it's not for sale I just wanted to see what it would be worth to sell and if it was good money I'd of made a proper add for it but I'm not gonna let it go unless it's top money if that makes sense lol

It wasn't me but my R26 would also reel you in really fast 😂

Welll the car staying 100% the effort of breaking it or selling it was to much to fund a new project, especially as it was on 3 trackdays old. So its staying untill futhur notice, and the fact that I f**king love driving/working on it.

Anyway, been waiting on these for a while but theyre finally ready to collect next week.

62bae34072d6c972db8fbdbca63547e6.jpg

Very excited indeed! I decided im not even going to bother attempting to get asts 5300s, so a new set of 5200s will do, which I should be picking up end of this week.

4f8c0a89394425e051be12b86af86627.jpg

Just gotta fit them, string and corner weight the car before a OPL at Castle combe 6th August canne wait.

Updates:
New 5100s are on, along with my roll centre correction hubs, had a little road test on them earlier and christ the turn in is epic and a notcieable stable/higher cornering speed.

Sent it through a quick alignment check, as there was 7mm toe out and 4mm toe in on the wheels so was very wonky, now down to a respectable 1mm toe out.

I didnt spend to much time getting it perfect as it will be getting corner weighted next week so will re adjust the toe to 2mm after its been up and down on the scales.

First time I've strung my own car before and what a faff, although will be made easier next time by a flat floor and more accurate of course.

Fitted my composite cup spoiler kept it removable as will be going for a plastic rear screen shortly.

It is also now wrapped black, but I did an awful job of it im not going to take a picture of it haha so I reckon ill spray it black as thats easier to do!

Spent some time getting a good camera position for more exciting videos, so my phone will run harrys laptimer connected to OBD to show engine data, pointing at me and the rear of the car while my go pro points are me and the front action, then edit all the files together for hopefully some good to watch footage.

c5380ffaddd2fdd4d5b6e9d7035fd9f0.jpg

Apparently if you say cheese it takes a photo for you on an s7.. i didnt just take a selfie of course

Anyway next update will be my weight... of the car as im pretty excited to see what it is after a few bits out, and then shes ready for combe on the 6th! Ooosh
