Had my new Octavia VRS on order for 13 months, got a call last night to say it will be here in November but some of my extra's I specked are not on because things changed in the last 12 months..... we will have to wait and see

When the salesman brings round it after telling you a few bits might not have been installed.

Surely to f**k they’re obliged to build what you asked for regardless whats changed?

Yeah there’s a thread on Briskoda, some people have been waiting almost 18 months for their cars. Microchip shortage and the fact that some of Skodas manufacturing plants are in Ukraine of all places. Lots of people having various extras removed from their orders, some have even had their original order values increased.

First world problems in the grand scheme of things but annoying!

Will they retrofit the options that you have specified/paid for? I’m sure they did that with Renault as someone on here had to go back to get their folding mirror button fitted as it wasn’t ready when car was finished.

Bought this about 6 months ago, very different to the Golf R it replaced but also significantly cheaper after a change in circumstances. It’s a Black Edition with the Amplified pack which basically meant it has all the TT RS styling, but sadly without the engine.

I do like that shape, but can't get my head around the different specs/models. It's not as easy as when it was just the 180/225/V6 on the Mk1

i really considered the TT-RS before getting the S1 due to the fact its the only way you’ll get a manual gearbox mated to that 5 cylinder engine, fuel economy fucked it though.

Something to do with optional extra packs have changed since my order went in to it being manufactured. Maybe better or worse we will have to wait and see. One of my friends had a RSQ5 on order, 19 months later they have said it will never get made due to global parts supply issues and have canceled his order and refunded him his deposit

Decided to move on from the Skoda after 3 brilliant years. I'm so impressed with the MQB platform though, I'm going to get another I think.

Cupra estate, S3 or TTS (post 2017 with 7 speed DSG and quattro) next.

red estate

No, that one’s a hatch. I had that blue estate for all of 5 days.

After receiving my refund all of the equivalent estates went up £2k for which I wasn’t prepared to pay so went for this end of production Lux hatch instead as it had the bucket seats that I was after.

I’m aiming to get a Cupra R ST in a few years time.

Bit much those R versions. I fancy a carbon one. Fingers crossed one's available from next month.

Yeah, but they may be holding their value being the “halo” car.

I had my eyes out for a carbon but the three on A/T had sold by the time my ST went back to me looking for a replacement.

This read as though the hire car was another purchase - that's where the confusion has come from.

My apologies, you’re right I didn’t explain myself very well.

I seem to be going through the entire Seat model range at the moment.

Looking forward to see what I’m driving next week lol.

@Matt Cup what do you get in the boot of a modern Seat in terms of tools, tyre gunk, tyre inflator etc

my lads just bought a one year old Ibiza and all there is under the boot floor is locking wheel nut key, towing eye and bottle of tyre gunk but no tyre compressor.

does that sound about right?

Space saver spare wheel, suicide jack, wheel wrench and some wheel nut cover removal tools.

Wife is out in our car (Leon) to check but I recall ours came with a compressor.
We took the full size spare from our Passat as it fits.

No, we’ll there is a spare wheel well but in it there’s just a big foam block with apertures for holding bits and bobs

I don’t think it’d be too expensive for your son to buy a spare and throw it in there especially if it’s got the space for one.

All of the Leon’s I’ve had and looked at had a spare. But it’s pretty common nowadays for them to leave them out even though they have the wheel well. Wouldn’t have minded having the compressor too though.

Also to add tyre gunk is s**t.

Been out on some lanes today. Car definitely needs a polish now.
