Its looking really so far, itll definately stand out when its done.
Id say getting rid of the gold is a good decision, black will look good :) what size you putting on?

Sorry guys my BT router blew up, and i still to have recieved a new one yet!! so i am doing this from work ( tut tut)

Progress is good, Photos are small :)

Break servo relocated and customised the pedal box to do this, using all parts from other Renaults :)

The Wiring loom has been sorted out and tidied up, so it will all fit nice, All paint work is now done, and this weekend i hope to have the car running, and the interier all in, all that will be left to do ( i say all )

Break Pipes and Flexis
Mount Swirl pot and Bosh 044
New windscreen
Fit seats
and Pipe the intercooler up ( do i just buy k tec kit )

wow them photos look fab, But im still pleased iv went phase 2 rear end tho :)

I was hoping by tomorrow for MOT but no chance, I project on road is by end of this month

Wahoo shes alive again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its runs.

Got nothing done Sunday as me and Steve went down south too see Fred and matty w to collect some goodies ;)


But the engine runs.

I hope to get the rest of the paint work sorted next week and all the engine back sorted out and tidied up, oil change and new gearbox oil etc :) really pleased with progress

well after the "incodent" at Bedford i thought the car had simply bent lots of valves, it hadnt when i removed head so i decided to re time the car all was great, i didnt bother doing any thing else and stuck the engien in the hole, i started the car and it just didnt start :), Apears the car had s**t its self and snapped all the fly wheel bolts i think thr 13,000rpm has soem thing to do with it, never the less i have fully stripped the full engine for a rebuild. collecing all the parts today from renault.

i dont know! I have no luck at all, All bolts are always replaced when i rebuild the engine, even the flywheel ones, and i use a snap on digital torque wrench so i know there all torqued up right. I think the shock of the putting it in 2nd from top of 3rd could have caused the issue, the clutch wouldnt slip as its a helix paddle so it didnt


Ok Paul, lets use it as a promo car and you can sell me the bits megga cheap ;)

i don't personalty like the paddle clutch but i don't think there is any thing else out there to handle 300bhp and over 300lbs

They snapped when the engine was running, took box off and the clutch fell on the floor, crank is at machine shop they just called to say its not bent ( phews )

Well after the last few days progress i have not posted much, After finding the snapped bolts i decided to do a complete engine rebuild, as i was unsure what else could have been damaged from this. I stripped the gfull engine down and ordered every single bolt and seal possible to start again. and i am pleased i did.........................

On removal of the pistons, we noticed that there was a small mark on cyl 4 ringland area, on closer inspection and after it went through the parts washer we saw a crack, a simple tap on the hand created a large chunk of the piston to fall off! :( Lucky i had a spare piston so i swaped it over and replaced the rings too. This is either Heat or Just the Pistons being crap or the RPM range it suffered. Any ways, we cleaded the head surface up too as it was looking rather dirty.

Got the engine fully rebuilt today and its just the sump to refit, I will have the egnine back in this week.

The biggest shock was the main bearing bolts crazy crazy prices, but i know its all ok now and ready to rock and roll

I would say you were very lucky that the flywheel didn't try to exit the bell housing!!

I've seen a 182 where the clutch made a bid for freedom for the same reason as yours and it made one hell of a mess, the block, box and crank were all scrap.

Nicky, Simon was up replacing his dads arms ob his BMW, he always jusps in for glory shots.


Updated will be this week, deadlines feb 1st ( omfg)
