Well Ive done 34000 miles and its still going strong and Ive even got the orig tyres on the back with 3mm of tread left !!........and no I dont drive like a vicar ;)
The demo car I drove had them on the front so when I did the deal on my 172 i asked my salesman if hed throw them in as part of the deal. They are custom fit I dont know what Reno car there from and I cant find out very easily because the garage has now closed down.....when I get it serviced in...
Ive got some on the front of my 172 dealer fit...... look good...... very discreet looking..... seen a cup with them on the front and back... looked sh1t on the back, made it look really tame.
Mines coming up soon and one of the service blokes said it would be £250 and thats for a 172.........as for fixing the brakes yourself Edd you need to know what your doing......36 thou is the biggy
Me too mate..... has yours got the steel bonnet ??
Dont bother claiming on your insurance why f*** up your NCB.
The bonnet can easily be repaired just needs filling sanding and spraying up will be under £200 even from a Reno dealership.
As for comfort I drove non stop from Dumfries in Scotland to Warwickshire non stop in summer and i felt as fresh as a daisy.......suspensions not that hard honest.
Mk1 172 every time mate...... cheap to run goes like stink need I say more..........mind you i would say that ive got one !! ;)
Get it from a Reno dealer though.
Weve got something to get the power down with, weve a company which produces the best brakes [ AP ] now all we need is a company that can tune the 172s to match !........anybody ?
Whats it like for the ride quality though is it tiresome on long journeys being that low ??......will my Nans falce teeth drop out when i take her to Asda ??
Word of warning dont believe a word what Which report whether it be about cars or anything.......weve had dealings with them thats all ill say.
As for my 172 100% reliable so far just the odd rattle and the rear brake pads wearing out at very low miles.
Ive got 2 rattles at the moment........3 when its cold !!!
mine are one from the centre console vents only at 3000rpm and at 4000rpm and the other a sort of rubbing noise at the top of the dash, when on bumpy roads.
