This guy at Kwik-Fit was OK and didnt say anything about their own parts.
I think you only need 3, they list them as a set of three, but you have to ask for 3 of that part number. If that makes sense!!
Ill have a butchers tomorrow and let you know how the exhaust is hanging.
James
... not with my car though. For once;)
My Dad has a 1.9 Clio Diesel and he has just had the cambelt changed. Ever since he has noticed a squeaking noise on start-up. Once warm the noise gets less noticeable.
I have had listed and it seems to be coming from the aux. belt area. This belt hasnt...
The garage re-hung the exhaust, I cant give you a price though as I had a lot of ther work done at the same time. I dont think it would cost too much. Infact I had new standard mounts fitted to the Magnex on my old 5 Turbo at Kwik-Fit and the fella didnt charge me at all!! (I did give him a...
I havent got around to it yet. It was just that I got a lot of stuff for my car which has now been fitted.
If I can get the problem with my steering sorted out tomorrow (see topic on Polysport bushes) I will be fitting them on sunday along with Koni suspension.
I will post a message as soon...
My Mongoose cat back system had always knocked on the bottom of the car ever since I got it.:(
I have just had the exhaust re-hung using Poly X Plus exhaust mounts from Rally Design. These are competition mounts and only cost £9.90 for a set of 3.
I know have no knocking whatsoever and the...
Ben,
Would this explain why it would also try pulling to the right when the road is flat?
Also, why would it only show now once the bushes have been done?
My car has always followed the cambers a bit, but I always put this down to the 17s.
James
Check the connector on the back.
I had this problem on my 5 Turbo and removed the connector and wiped the connector on the rear of the guage with a clean cloth and it worked again.
Dont know if cleaning the connector really helped, it may have just been the act of removing the connector and...
Andyspares (German, Swedish, French) do them for £8.00 each - part number R45714.
I dont know about the top cup mount, I need new ones of these and I think that you can only get them from Renault. Ill post tomorrow if I get a chance to go to my local dealer.
James
StevieB,
I havent got wheel spacers and I cant fit any narrawer tyres with my 17s.
The rubbing is obviously a major problem, but the main worry is the fact that the car is following every single camber in the road.
For example, when i go to park my car in my space at the flats, I dont need...
Its not too noticable to look at, but I can feel it and the inner rim of the wheel is catching on the suspension, it is not as bad as it was before the garage re-fitted the inner bush, but I can hear the tyre rubbing against the suspension.
I am running 17s, but the tyres are only 205 wide and...
When the inner bush was originally fitted it was put in incorrectly and the camber was out by loads, it could be possible that these still arent fitted correctly.
James
I have just had new disks and pads put on the rear.
There is a terrible screeching noise coming from the rear brakes just before I come to a stop.
Could this just be a case of allowing the rear brakes to bed in or is it a seized caliper?
James
Ive just fitted these to my car and they have knocked the wheel alignment out.
The bottom of the wheel is sticking out and the handling is terrible, the car is just following every little camber in the road and also pulling to the right.:(
I am going to get the wheel alignment done tomorrow...
Thanks for the answers.
BenR, the noise is not a squeak and the belt has just been replaced.
I think the pump must be on its way out as the noise is really loud when parking and still noticeable at low speed.
I will see how things go though as I havent got the car back from the garage as...
No, the fluid wasnt replaced at the same time. The thing that concerns me, I dont want the steering too light, this may be alright around town, but what is it going to be like at speed.
I personally wouldnt replace the power steering. My old 5 Turbo didnt have any power steering (like all of...
Mine was quite heavy before I had the system bled, now it is very light, in fact it feels too light.
Im running 17s on mine, so I would have thought that I would be fairly heavy still.
Would having the system bled lighten the steering or has something else gone wrong with it?
James
I dont know if this is true, but it wouldnt surprise me if Renault had used the same power steering pump across the whole range and because of the wider track on the 16vs and Willys it puts too much strain on the system.
James
Thanks for the answers.
I am running 17s, so I suppose that would put some extra strain on it.
I got the car back from the garage tonight and they have bled the system and it is alot quieter now.:)
Only problem is the near side front wheel is now catching on something and the steering is...
My power steering fluid is leaking through the hole in the cap on the reservoir. So much is leaking through that it is ending up on the bonnet.:(
The power steering has been thoroughly checked and there do not appear to be any air leaks. The garage will also be bleeding the system for me.
If...
Steve,
Your not having much luck with your car at the moment!
Look on the bright side, at least you will be dealing with the nice friendly, intelligent people at Priory Renault!
James
I am having a bit of trouble putting the car into gear from standstill, once Im on the move its ok.
Is the clutch cable stretched and therefore needs replacing or am I looking at a new clutch?
BTW. The clutch isnt splipping.
Thanks
James
I know where that garage is now.
Its an ELF garage on the Farningham roundabout and the dealership is W.J.King, a Vauxhall one.
Ill meet you guys at the garage, just let me know the time.
James
JamesG,
Confirm where that petrol station is please. I know round that way and cannot picture it.
Do you mean the Esso at the Dartford turn-off of the M25?
James
