So Mk1s are starting to hold their price? I couldnt give mine away when I was selling it.
Get the Mk1, fantastic car. Loved every minute of my 2 years with it.
The first Exclusive I saw was at the San Remo rally in October 2001 and that definitely had black leather seats. Maybe that was a Euro only spec, I dunno.
Hi Gwynny, Ive just got a Australia 2001 WRX after having a mk1 172 in the UK for 2 years then moving here. I think the Oz WRX is basically the same as the UK Turbo...
To be perfectly honest, the Scoob has not put the grin on my face in the same way that the Clio did when I first bought it in...
My 172 has now been sold after 18 months of fun driving. Heres my new toy I got at the weekend.

These have just come on and I cant get them to go off. The under-passenger-seat wires were soldered by Renault about a year ago and Ive checked these and theyre ok.
Anybody any ideas what this can be? Its going to Renault Kidderminster tomorrow morning to check it out - is it safe to drive...
I always get ~36-37 in mine with a mix of to and from work and some mway driving. Never ever had less than 33.
Im 28 and my insurance was <£500. Itll be for sale next month at £8500 ish next month. Offers welcome as Im emmigrating... ;)
Mitch, my parents are in Worcester but they use the dealer in Stourbridge. Very good Service etc., never heard a complaint against them. Dont know the name though, sorry.
It broke on the thin pipe connecting the last silencer section to what I guess is the centre section - does water build up here through short journeys?
My standard Renault exhaust fell off this morning on the way to Renault to be replced. It started blowing a couple of weeks so I took it in to be checked, they didnt have the part in so I took the car home and waited (actually 12 days as I was on holiday).
Driving back to the dealer this...
I had my 36K done earlier this year and it was approx 210 all done. No alternator belt change etc..., not needed until the next major at 72K (I had them check). This was at a Renault dealer too (Simpkins Sounthampton).
My exhaust has just fallen off and its 125 for a standard Renault...
jetsetjimbo - I had the same choice as you before I bought mine. As already said, the main differences are the aircon/climate control and the gearing. You will still get MK1 with warrenty left (mine runs out Jan 04) so its really down to your choice on looks.
Touch wood Ive had no of the usual...
Mine will not start every time if I try and start the ignition before the lights have gone out. If I wait until they go out it starts 1st time every time.
Patience... ;)
Its on the second to top left of mine and has never come on, whether at ignition or in anger. Has been in to Renault to be looked at but they said maybe a different dash (wtf?). Craigy172 had the same as me but once it was chipped it started to light up. Not sure what to think really.
Sorry SHORTY, just saw this post as Ive been away.
I have this on my mk1 (X reg, 36k). Its done it since I bought it at the end of 2001 at 10k miles - never got any better or any worse. Its been in to Renault 2 or 3 times to get it looked at, different garages each time. Main Renault Dealer...
