172 Cup Q+A's...

I have recently bought a 172 Cup, it's very tidy - 17500 miles. Already put a K-tech carbon splitter on it (loving the look!) but have a couple of questions that someone can hopefully help with. Under hard acceleration in 1st and 2nd gear, the is a very small knocking feeling coming from the front right corner of the car. It isn't affecting performance, but it is irritating and I dont want it to get any worse.. Also, the exhaust (centre section under the car) is buzzing between 3500 and 5000 rpm, again irritating, and pretty loud too.

Are these common issues?? What can I do? Please help!

common issues yeah.. the knocking is the engine mounts, easy fix.. do a search on here youll find lots of info

The vibration is also known as the 4K rattle! All 172s with standard exhausts have it IIRC.

If the car is under 3 years old, you can get it addressed under warranty.

Nice car by the way...and try www.172cup.co.uk most of the known 'issues' are listed in the forum.
