Laguna socket is the solution Chris!
After many months of trying to sort a date, we (me and
guysy) found a date to swap his gearbox on his 182.
Arrived, Another 182 to get my teeth into.
I love the sound of the K-Tec induction kit on this.
Got it up nice and high...
The lot of stuff I've gotta fit...
Then pictures stopped lol, Got everything required to get the subframe removed, off. Inc the four main bolts, which thanks to Guy's WD40'ing a little while ago, made them come out pefectly easy, Superb! Subframe out, with steering rack attached as its easier.
Cleaned up the replacement gearbox, as it was dirtier than the gearbox I'm taking out!
And heres why I love having a car I don't care about (the Laguna), You see back seats, I see gearbox storage..
Tidied up last night, and got back to it this morning... Lovely weather, so gazebo time.
Again, no more pics until the biggy.
Starter popped off, gearbox oil drained, and all the bolts removed then gearbox carefully lowered (after I'd supported the engine, obviously)
Clean gearbox, Shame it whines!
Clutch isn't that worn at all, no signs of heat either, always good.
As I've noticed a couple of oil leaks, I'm going to inspect the rear crank seal (behind flywheel), so thus replace flywheel bolts, and order a pair of inner ARB bushes as these have seen better days, and what a better time to do it. I'll also fit the new Track rod inners & outers (probably later today)
Hopefully, if everything is in stock, have it done Tuesday night!
More soon....
