Mine runs the dci subframe, looked identical to me side by side other than the fact I had to drill a hole for the 4th engine mount

I just went out and bought a golf instead 😆
Monday update
Another day another small issue. Go out on a site visit to Cramlington approx an hr away/100 mile round trip. Make it there no fuss and on way back stop at local garage to get toe set.
Pull up and turn engine off no issues. My mate shouts me to bring it in, go to start and red immob light of doom/no start. Repeat 5 mins of ign on and off and it eventually starts. Fires up and cuts straight out, and repeat a couple of times, eml is flashing. I catch it on the throttle and with a bit of diesel knock it stays running.
Get toe set, then same carry on again to get it started up and stay running. Only a mile away from the house and luckily make it back.
I thought an injector was on its last legs so get clip on to see what the f**k is going on.
Scan immobiliser and codes storedView attachment 1633449View attachment 1633450
No communication, Strange. Clear faults and does not appear again when cycling ign as immob light is off but still conking out.
Scan engine ecu and DF125 is stored (ignore heater plugs as its been on forever)View attachment 1633451

So its wiring or relay. Fire up my other laptop to find ecu/immob relay. Take it out and no corrosion suprisingly so bosh a spare relay inView attachment 1633453
Note clean relay thats replaced the old one. Fires straight up no issues and fault gone, repeat it a couple of times to confirm. 20 min fix.
Done 20mile round trip to gym and all good again.
In situations like this you would be knackered without clip or similar good diagnostics! Id bet 90% of people would say injector in this instance.
Manchester and back tomorrow lets keep fingers crossed nothing else breaks.
Thanks for reading!!
Ive fixed a few immob red light of doom and its always related to the underbonnet fusebox area. Nice easy one this one luckily.
Interestingly i tried the obd scanner on clip today. No faults present apparently, id already went into the ecus and found the info logged so knew faults were stored. Wonder if obd scanner on clip is the same as generic?
What clip are you using mate? My kangoo’s dead at min due to the immob light flashing fast when I try to start it.Ive fixed a few immob red light of doom and its always related to the underbonnet fusebox area. Nice easy one this one luckily.

I too would like to know, also what kind of laptop is needed as I have neither but guessing you can get away with a cheap laptop to run clip? What clip are you using mate? My kangoo’s dead at min due to the immob light flashing fast when I try to start it.

Sorry @Brigsy for spamming your thread
What operating system are you both using or recommend out of the ones previously mentioned? @JamesBryan
When i first bought it i was unsure whether it was worth it for a one off job, but over the years its absolutely earned its money. Must have done at least 10 sets of bearings and loads of bushes and other random jobs. Still s**t myself every time i use it if a bearing case moves with a bang like it did on one todayI’m well jealous of the press in the garage. I’d love that
Cheers mate. Mk2 dci is a proper dying breed now, most for sale are well past their best.Great thread really want one of these but mk2s are getting few and far between now
Its crazy the amount of money its earned over the years on business mileage. I think im going to keep running it until the bodywork is totally shagged.I don't have the patience for cars like this everyday and go mad pottering but the amount of money it must have saved you Brigsy must have really added up!
Agree with this, my old 80 had earned its value 10 times over in milage claims!Cheers mate. Mk2 dci is a proper dying breed now, most for sale are well past their best.
