Well after all of that it was time for the first track day !!! what a failure !!!

I did not take too much pics as i was more busy fixing the car !!!

- High pressure power steering hose kept on bursting at the connector where the sensor is on the right hand side. in total i must have spilled 3 litres of steering fluid and it was so bad when i came home that i had to filled it up with gear box oil....

- In 4 years of racing I lost control only 3 time... one time with my previous car when i had a major brake fading, f**king twice with the cup when tha car just snap off the rear due to extremely poor brake bias toward the rear... that part had to be replaced.

- My Alfano magnetic sensor was not working properly as i discovered it was sitting to hight, shims will have to be put in place...

- My alfano RPM sensor is catching interference passed 7000rpm causing it to display something like 15000 rpm lol

- And on top off that it was my first time with a right hand drive car so my position on the trach had to be reajusted as i was going too much on the left hand side on corner exit caussing me to put 2 wheels several time in the grass ( look at the left hand side of the car lol)

Beside those problem, I was able to beat my previous record of that track on street tires. showing the tremendous potential of the car .... CUP rules.

Time for the pics.

Lets start with my Alfano Logs.

Unlucky on the track day but I'm surprised they never black flagged you for dropping so much fluid on the track.

Most track days I've been on it would not have been allowed.

Car is looking good but and I'm sure you'll bounce back.

Well I' was lucky I guess but explainable as High pressure hose at bursting point generate a mist of oil, like a fog, and until i got in the pit you could not notice a leak( except when my steering weighed 1tone lol)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Later on, when I was trying to source a new HP hose foe the car, the French Renault dealer told me that this part for my British version was not available and he could not give me any ETA... by experience that could mean 1,2,3, ect month waiting time...

So I took my hose and brought it to a Hydrolic repair shop and got it repair for 20 Euro instead of the 200 Euro for the new hose, I must say that I'm quit happy with that...

The Alfano was not an issue as I had an extra spacer for the sensor...

Concerning the break , after realising that bias was wrong at the back I took my thermal gun and realise that rear disk was not getting hot at all!!!! shortly after, I've replace the bias valve, and everything became much better!!! braking distance was absolutely fantastic and car stability issue while entering seems to be solved... Final check to be made on the track...

Noos any more updates?

what is that track from the pics? paris only 5 hrs away and it would make for a good trip.

how did you fit the Quaife? i'm thinking about one of these too, but since my car is a daily don't want it to be off the road for to long.
Since the crownwheel has to be fitted from the car I was thinking if it is possible to get a new crownwheel and have that fitted first.
then the diff could be fitted over a weekend.
Do you know if the crownwheel is available as a seperate part?

Love the car mate!

You're lucky that the power steering fluid didn't catch fire! I have a mate who had his power steering hose brake and set fire to his whole engine! $10k AUD worth of damage at the end of the day.

Do you have a Renault part number for the cup racer exhaust manifold?

Yes updates are comming ,

Quaife was fitted by a competent mechanic, i do engines but I'm not yet secured with gear box.

Yes i guess if you replace the diff it is the time to replace the crown... I can supy that too PM

Do you drive round Paris in the cup?

Not down town paris but in the subburb no problem.

I did not see it that way but you are right, outcome could have been much more painfull.
